iPadOS 14.5 breaks Logitech Folio
The Logitech Folio loses a lot of functionality with iPadOS 14.5. Logitech and Apple, please work to get this problem solved! With Scribd, the keyboard seems to go to sleep and various workarounds are needed to get it working again; I’ve found that turning the pages more frequently (even if just to next then immediately back again) to keep the connection alive is a workaround. Hoopla is much worse: neither trackpad nor arrow keys will turn the pages, and tapping on the trackpad doesn’t zoom into graphic novels as it should. Basically, in Hoopla, Logitech is non-functional, and any interaction with the app requires finger on screen.
Tha main issue I have is with the response of the brightness indicator window when changing the brightness with the keyboard. Instead of it showing it for multiple seconds the brightness window flashes, its quite annoying.
Also, I don’t like that I cannot reprogram the home button key on the top left of the keyboard of the folio keyboard like I can for the globe key.
Confused about app’s purpose? Tap to click? Read me :)
I just got the combo touch keyboard case and I was confused about the app myself. It doesn’t do anything, it’s just for updating the iPad to be able to use the features. If you want tap to right click, go into settings->general-> and below the keyboard option there should be a trackpad option to open. You’ll find ‘tap to click’ there, you just have to enable it. I agree that the app should be more clear about the fact that it’s ONLY for updating the firmware, they should probably add a how to bit for people who are looking for what features there are and how to use them.
