I’ve been using Record Scanner for about 6-7 years now. I have to say that I’ve used related products but have never seen the same value I get when I use Record Scanner. It’s orders of magnitude more friendly than Discogs. I use it all the time and am currently happily on a yearly sub since it really helps me with my collecting. The support is always down to earth and friendly…kind of like you’re just talking to a good friend about your hobby which I really appreciate! I rarely promote apps I use because they generally don’t actually “help” me significantly in my everyday hobbies or stuff I do — with this exception. I always appreciate how well the app works and the friendly support and dedication the team has to making a good app for this area which is very quickly becoming more and more popular again!

I am going over my dad’s vinyl collection from the 60’s to the the 80’s, which consists of some pretty random classical and folk albums from all over the world. Not only has this app nailed all of the records in the free trial, it has the most convenient scanning feature that I have seen, with three distinct methods of identifying each record. I am very impressed. I have not confirmed as of yet whether the pricing is at all accurate or not, but so far so good! Would be greatly improved if there were a marketplace attached to the app so that I could sell some of the collection, as we do not listen to these records anymore, though.

The best app on the market to track your vinyl collection. Best interface, connection to discord database, ability to design and mark your own shelves for storage, notes, record of purchase or market value of the collection. No glitches. I would pay three times as much for custom tags and Mac/Win version. UPDATE: I still think it is a cool app. But lack of tagging became a deal breaker for me. Having almost 1000 releases I cannot manage it effectively anymore without tags. I had to switch to Discography where you have a powerful tag management system.UPDATE 2: Folks have designed tags, and is awsome now. changed to 5*

Skip trying the others. This is the one. Period. It is so well designed developers of other apps, even those not related to records, should really look at the design and use of this app. It will help them do a better job in their own apps. I have seen a review concerned with the accuracy of the pricing. If this is a big concern keep in mind that you can edit the price in the app. I don’t know if there is a source for pricing others use, but this is not a concern I have at all. If the subscription model turns you off, you can always find an inferior app that does not use this model. For now I am using the quarterly option. By the way, I decided to subscribe after scanning about 3 or 4 albums. It is that good. I love the Cabinets. The innovative way to move records from one to another. Once you know it is easy peasy. If there was one feature I could ask for it would be the ability to import from CSV file. Congratulations to the devs! Job well done!
