CueMix™ 5 provides fast and easy access to all of the settings in MOTU’s popular, award-winning 828 and UltraLite-mk5 audio interfaces (or other MOTU Gen5 products), which include DSP mixing, effects processing and best-in-class analog audio quality for mobile and studio audio recording. Use CueMix 5 to adjust basic device settings and to monitor live inputs directly on any analog output pair with the unit’s on-board DSP-driven mixing. Create a separate, unique monitor mix for each output (monitor outs, phones, etc.) Apply on-board effects, including reverb, 4-channel parametric EQ and dynamics processing to inputs and mix busses. Use the 828 or UltraLite-mk5 as a stand-alone mixer and control everything CueMix™ 5 software running on your iPad™ or iPhone™. Longtime MOTU Ultalite Mk3 user back in the good ol’ days…. a stable fully functional CueMix & available hardware control knobs for all functions. Now using iPad Pro, I upgraded (so I thought) to Ultralite Mk5 & CueMix 5. This version of hardware is extremely dependent on CueMix for most functions. With such a strong dependency on software, it’s stability is critical. Most of the time CueMix will literally not recognize the hardware. When it does load, the functionality is bare bones. Very disappointed.

Was great when first updated, now it won’t stay connected

I have the latest version of the app and the Ultralite MK5 updated to the latest firmware. I LOVED the app when I first updated it but now it’s only staying connected for a while. Then, it won’t connect wirelessly. Not sure why it worked and then stopped, perhaps a WIFI issue. I’ll continue trying on different WiFi systems.

Every single time there is an update to the app and the ULMK5, it cause serious connection issues. It’s absolutely maddening. It takes repeated attempts of opening and closing the app, disconnecting and reconnecting the interface, or restarting the iPad, just to get it to recognize the hardware. For the love of all that is holy, either stop updating the app, or make sure it works before you set it free!

The CueMix 5 version linked to this comment (version 1.4) supports the newest firmware we have available (1.1.7+2398). We plan to keep this app updated as new firmwares are released. Improve reconnecting to directly connected UltraLite-mk5 devices. Corrected some menu strings for 828 devices.
