In an endless sea of trash mobile games! It’s refreshing to have such a a great game like this! It’s core mechanics are pretty simple, but as you unlock more species of plants and animals while only being able to bring one type of species of each you really start strategizing on what materials you need most and what species will get you them fastest. The game plays pretty smoothly for the first few villages, you get to place decorations and buildings freely, with the buildings giving you buffs and bonus tools, you get to customize the colors of buildings and build your castle, but once you finish the snowy village it starts to get tougher, you realize that you don’t have the species you need to progress, and unlocking them will take some time, although if you’re ok with a bit of grinding then it won’t seem like anything more than a minor hurdle. All & all I think it’s a great game that’s worth your playtime!

TLDR: The game has great concept and fun gameplay, but progression requires you to perform unrealistic feats.Up until you have finished the 2nd town, the game is fantastic. However, after upgrading your town center to the next level in order to move to the third town, you then learn you have to either pay $10 USD worth of premium currency OR unlock multiple species in order to move on to the next town. Most of these species are relatively simple to unlock, although time consuming. However, one of these species is a herd animal species, unlocked by collecting long chains of pigs, which is significantly difficult to do even once without spending premium currency at such a point in the game. After doing this once, I found I was just 1% of the way to unlocking the species.I remember a while ago this game did not have this massive progression wall, I do not know when it was implemented but I remember I had great fun with this game before then, but paying a significant amount of real money to progress is not something I want to do. If you have a large amount of money to blow on mobile games, you may enjoy this game more than I have.

I’ve been really enjoying this game - the basic gameplay loop of collecting resources to build out your towns to make collecting resources easier so you can make even better buildings/tools is very addicting. Some goals like moving to a new town can take a fairly long time (especially when it’s required to have certain animals/plants unlocked first), but the gameplay is fun and progress is slow but steady, so unless you’re impatient I don’t think anything is really behind a paywall. I did pay for the 2x tool capacity though, totally worth it if you like the game.

While the game should be renamed Puzzle Craft 2: The Search for Cash, it is a good game. I really miss the first one though. I’ve been playing it for several weeks and I agree with other reviewers that you can have a good time with it up until the third town. Personally, I refuse to spend good money for virtual currency. I did it once for one of the Farm games and was ashamed that I spent so much.As I’m getting to the end of the 2nd town, I play it once a week. I go into the game and collect game gold for 5-6 days and maybe play for an hour before I have to save up more. I will recommend that you find out what the next town requires before you leave your town to go there because you will cease to have any more money coming from the buildings. I found this out too late and had to start over.Good luck!
