This update redesigns Preferences and adds delay and hold stages to envelopes. New - Delay and hold for envelopes. Libraries can now make a note wait before it starts, and stay at full level for a while before it fades. Improved - New Preferences and MIDI Settings. Both are redrawn with pages, grouped settings and a line of help under each. Your settings are kept. - Clearer screens. Messages, the login and welcome screens, and the choose-a-library and choose-a-preset lists have been redone to match. Thanks to everyone who reported these!

This update lets you save snapshots of your sounds, even on copy-protected libraries, adds support for REX loops, and makes notes start at their full level. New - Save snapshots of your sounds. File > Save Snapshot… keeps the position of every control, your Main Tuning and your MIDI Learn mappings, on any library, including copy-protected store libraries. Your snapshots appear in the preset menu under "Your Snapshots:", where you can also rename or delete them, and loading one is instant. - Libraries can include snapshots. Library makers can ship variations of a preset as tiny snapshot files. They appear right after their preset in the preset menu and the library browser, and the arrows step through them. - REX loops. Libraries can now use loops saved by ReCycle, which play in time with your song. - One slice per key. Libraries can put each slice of a loop on its own key, so you can play the individual hits. Improved - Easier-to-read dialogs. Message boxes over the player are now white with dark text. - Missing libraries. When a project's library has been moved or renamed, Decent Sampler asks you to locate it and then carries on where the project left off. Fixed - Notes now start at their full level. Before, every note faded in over its first millisecond or so, even with the attack set to 0, which softened sharp attacks. - Projects saved before a copy-protected library was updated can find their samples again. - The "Choose Sample Library" list now closes once you pick a library. - MIDI Learn no longer maps the wrong knob when a set of drawbars comes before it. Thanks to everyone who reported these!

This update fixes a few things in instruments' interfaces and envelopes. • Knobs that change an envelope's attack, decay or release curve now work. Before, every new note went back to the default curve, so turning these knobs seemed to do nothing. Curves set in an instrument now work too. • Images in an instrument's interface now scale up along with the rest of the interface on larger screens, and images set to stretch now fill their whole area. • Lines in an instrument's interface now scale and stay lined up with the controls around them. • Double-tapping a knob that has a default value resets it to that value again. • Plus a handful of small fixes found during a code clean-up. Thanks to everyone who reported these!

Loops that follow your tempo: Sample libraries can now include drum loops that are sliced to play in time with your host’s tempo, much like Ableton Live’s Beats mode. Hold a note and the loop plays in time from the start, repeating as long as you hold it. Smoother filters: Turning a knob that controls a filter’s cutoff or resonance now sweeps smoothly instead of clicking at each step, even while notes are playing. A fresh look for dialogs: Dialog buttons have a cleaner new style, and the main action is always on the right. Fixes: - Fixed a crash that could take down the host app when it opened or closed Decent Sampler’s window, or removed Decent Sampler from a track. - Fixed some sample libraries opening to a blank screen. This affected libraries that keep each instrument in its own sub-folder, such as “Exquis – Dualo Legacy”.

This update fixes a freeze on iPad, adds two new tools for instrument makers, and smooths out a few things under the hood. FIXED • Decent Sampler no longer freezes inside AUM and other hosts when you try to load a file. The file picker opens normally and the menus keep working. • Long samples no longer stutter or repeat a fraction of a second of audio when your device is under heavy load. • Instruments built from oscillators now play at the volume their settings ask for. Some may sound a little louder after this update. NEW • Looped samples can now ring out: when you let go of a key, an instrument can leave its loop and play the natural decay recorded after it. • Instruments that play the same pitch on every key, like drums and percussion, can now be tuned. IMPROVED • Validate Preset catches more mistakes that quietly break an instrument, such as a knob pointed at a setting that doesn't exist. • SFZ files import more accurately, including their overall volume settings.

Fixed a bug in the loop crossfade code.

Decent Sampler 1.34.0 New sound-shaping tools for instrument makers, better behaviour in AUv3 hosts, and several fixes. NEW • Shelf EQ: two new EQ effects, low shelf and high shelf, for gently warming up or brightening a sound. Their gain can be tied to a knob or a controller like aftertouch. • Darker delay repeats: a new tone setting for the delay's echoes, so each repeat can come back a little softer than the one before, like a tape delay. • Modulators such as LFOs and envelopes can now be switched on and off from a button or knob. • Instruments can respond to the first key you press and the last key you let go, which is great for animations that loop while you play. IMPROVED • When you use Decent Sampler as an AUv3 in hosts like AUM, each instance now remembers its own MIDI channel when you reopen a session. • Slider and bar style controls now scale their labels and spacing with the size of the window, like the round knobs do. FIXED • Multi-state knobs in some instruments didn't switch anything when turned. They do now. • X-Y pads that start out hidden can now be shown by a button, so tabbed and paged layouts work properly. • A peak EQ with no gain setting no longer cuts its frequency band almost completely.

The sample store has been rebuilt. Library descriptions now show their formatting, headings and images instead of a block of plain text, and the detail view is a proper full-screen sheet with the description on its own page. The browse screen has a Login and Logout button, scrolling no longer opens a library by accident, and libraries you have bought or been granted are no longer treated as Patreon-exclusive. Playback is better in several ways: looped samples no longer buzz when played above their root note, slow pitch bends and pitch LFOs are smooth rather than stepping, opposing pan settings no longer cancel to silence, and release samples play correctly when a key is held. Loading is faster and steadier too, with a number of crashes fixed around loading presets, closing sessions and a damaged library index. The volume control at the top is now yours rather than the preset author's, starting at 0.00 dB whatever the preset was authored at. Tunings and the window size are saved with your session. The preset editor gains oscillators, including drawbars, a formant waveform, FM controls and DX7 sysex import. For preset authors there are new options for menus, labels and sliders, and the plugin now tells you when a preset contains something it cannot use. All of it is in the Developer's Guide.

Hear before you buy. Sample libraries in the store can now include demo tracks, so you can listen to what a library actually sounds like right inside Decent Sampler, before downloading anything. Find things faster. There's a new FILTER button in the library browser: narrow the list down to titles you already own, or browse everything from a single publisher. Free trials, tidied up. A library that offers a free trial now appears as one listing with a toggle between the trial and the full version, instead of two separate entries competing for space. A better-behaved keyboard. The on-screen keyboard now takes keyswitches and MIDI note ranges into account when it decides where to center itself, so it lands somewhere sensible more often. For preset builders: - Bindings can target individual samples and oscillators by tag, not just whole groups - Button state bindings work with tags too, not only control indexes - New GLIDE_MODE binding, so you can switch glide between off, always and legato from your own interface - New centerNote attribute on the keyboard element, to override auto-centering yourself - New customSkinHoverImage for custom-skin knobs - Knobs now honor disabledOpacity, matching how buttons already behaved Fixes: - A binding aimed at a group tag only affected the first matching group. It now updates every one of them. - Typing values directly into controls works properly again
