As an intermediate piano player who plays an hour per day, I was hoping for digitized scores that had fingering included. Most of the scores are only scans, not truly digitized. I would rather take photos of my paper scores that have fingering and use those photos as PDFs in another sheet music app. I like the concept of Enote, but need more than just the notes.
Developer Response
Thanks for giving Enote a try and for sharing your feedback, RoodooT! We definitely aim to make every score in our library available in fully-digital format in future, complete with suggested fingering that is fully editable. Until we reach that point, we’ll be adding more smart digital features like automated highlighting to our Print Editions, and are also developing options for uploading your own content to your personal library. We hope you might check back in on Enote from time to time to see what’s new 🎶
Expensive and inaccurate
Phila David
Update June 2022: and the Chopin etude is still not corrected. Can’t even change the note sizes without paying a subscription fee. I am really disappointed that this app has not dealt with some basic problems and yet is still charging high monthly fees.I beta tested this app and had high hopes at first. Main criticisms. Inaccurate scores. Chopin Etude in C Major (ocean) first measure. I reported this at least once probably over a year ago. There are others. And the price - so expensive. And the free version is so restricted that it’s not reasonable to use.
Developer Response
So sorry to have disappointed you Phila David, and thank you for sharing such detailed feedback. I’ve passed it on to the respective teams, and can assure you that improvements to Digital Score accuracy, a less restrictive free version and better ways to browse our full library are coming in our next release. We hope you’ll check back on Enote in the future to see how we’re progressing.
Can’t evaluate the “free” version
operaman1
As a professional musician who transitioned to an IPad exclusively for my singing years ago, I saw this app and downloaded it, hoping to see if it had any advantages over ForScore, the industry standard. I can’t say much, since there is a subscription wall in front of almost every feature. In my brief exploration, it appears to rely heavily on poor editions freely available for free on imslp, especially for vocal music. Unfortunately, this will be quickly deleted.
Developer Response
Sorry to have disappointed you operaman1! Our opera library is still in its earliest stage, but we plan to make more high-quality editions and transposable digital scores available in the coming months (see Schubert’s ‘Winterreise’ for a prototype already in our library). Also note that you can evaluate the app ad-free with a 7-day trial of Premium, and that all public domain scores are fully accessible in our ad-supported Free version 🎶
awesome app
DaBoiWhoSaidYes
So I’ve been following this on Instagram for a while because I thought it was an amazing concept. So far I’m loving this app, I just wish that when you first get into the app it shows you some music to maybe start playing like a recommended feature. So far great app and AMAZING work.
This update includes bug fixes and UI improvements for a better experience.
