This app has helped me a lot. Im still trying to go through my journey, but if it weren't for this app, i'd still be living off my screen. Due to my uneventful life; i find myself constantly being on my phone to entertain myself. I would even skip meals or school. My screen time used to be an 11 hour average, the other 13 hours of the day was me sleeping. I never bedrotted or anything, but i couldn't do anything without the "comfort" of having my phone by my side. I was self-aware and i knew i needed a change, so i searched up some great apps. I found this one, which was entirely free and kind of different from other screen time apps. Despite being different, this app had impacted my screen time more than any other. Now my screen time is a 6 hour average, which i know isn't great.. but from where i've started it's a lot better. I'm still willing to improve myself and i still have a lot to go, but ScreenZen truly had helped me and I think it can help other users too. To the other users that are willing to download this app for the sake of their screen time, i'm proud of them. I'm proud of them for taking the first step. It won't be easy, but i promise they'll get through it. I'm starting to notice the beauty of life, and how crucial time is. I'm starting to socialize more and i've gotten more confident in myself. I’ve never felt inclined to write an app review, but this app has been so life-changing for me that I just had to. For the past several years, I’ve tried multiple screen time apps to help me with my phone addiction and none have actually worked because I was able to bypass them or they got annoying and didn’t actually end up helping. ScreenZen is the only app that I’ve consistently used for over a month, and my screen time has gone from 40 hrs a week to around 20, and Instagram (which was my biggest problem) went from 8 hours a week to just 1!! I feel like I have so much more time in my day, and I owe it to ScreenZen for providing a block technique that breaks the quick dopamine release feedback loop of clicking on social media. I love how you are able to customize how much time you have to wait for the app to open or what the message is, and that it’s a dark non-stimulating block screen. And you’re able to set the amount of time you allow the app to be unlocked for, so I still can feel connected while not doom-scrolling every night because after 10 minutes I get to choose if I want to continue scrolling or leaving the app, and more often than not I end up leaving the app because I already accomplished what I wanted to do in the first place.For anyone trying to get rid of their phone addition I could not recommend this app enough!! Thank you to the developers, this app is beautifully designed and takes away the addictive factor from these social media apps that are designed to grab your attention for hours.

I love this app. I have ADHD and have struggled to find something to help me limit my screen-time. I tend to get distracted by scrolling or playing games on my phone when I know I should be working on something. I’ve tried the app locking features Apple implemented and a few other apps like this one, but they did very little or had some kind of subscription fee that I really don’t have the funds for. But I finally came across this app, and it has been perfect! I’ve been able to decrease the amount of time I spend on my phone significantly, and having the widget to see how much time I’ve spent on my phone has kind of gamified it too. Seeing my 4-hour limit goal in real-time every time I open my phone has sort of tricked my brain into striving to stay under that limit and keep my streak! I really appreciate that the core features of the app are free too, but I made a donation anyway to customize the pause screen 😊 My only critique is I wish there were an easier way to select websites to limit, maybe by typing in the home page address? Right now it only shows a handful that I guess my IPhone has recognized and lists with the apps I’ve installed. But none of them are ones I ever have issues scrolling on for hours on end, like Quora or Bulbapedia. I’m not even sure when I’ve visited the websites it shows 😅 Otherwise, I love this app, and even my counselor is impressed by how much help it’s been for me! Thank you guys so much for this wonderful app!!!

This is helping me be much more mindful with my social media use. I love the pause and the prompts that it gives you before it unlocks the app, that is also super customizable and helpful! The prompts, urge you to be mindful and figure out what it is you are actually wanting. I have mine set to “what are you seeking?” it makes me stop and think about what it is I’m really hoping to get out of scrolling. And if I can’t answer, then I close the app. It helps me feel more In control. Its helping me take back the power. It’s so easy to use, super user friendly, and has sooo many great customizable functions to help you overcome your social media addiction. And the best part is, it’s absolutely free. I never ever ever leave reviews but I love seeing good companies who genuinely want to fix a real rampant problem and not just profit. This app is genuinely the best thing ever for my social media addiction. I can’t stress enough how MANY great customizable features this app comes with to make your experience more tailored to you. It’s also much easier to set up compared to other screen time apps that I have tried, and those even had paid subscriptions ! If you really want to take it a step further, in your settings, go to color filter, and change it to black and white. It will help make your phone less appealing to look at, therefore promoting you to use it less. That hack paired with this app = significantly less screen time. 10/10
