At the end of every month, managers stop managing and start nagging. "Please fill your timesheet" over Slack and Teams, a spreadsheet of who has and has not submitted, and client billing blocked until the last few hours land. Sandtime.io was built to end that ritual.
Sandtime.io is a time tracking and timesheet app for freelancers, consultants, software agencies, and small client-service teams. People log hours with a one-click timer, from the desktop app, the phone, the Chrome extension, or a Slack command, or fill them in later on a weekly timesheet grid. Nothing is reconstructed from memory at month end.
Then the workflow closes itself. Sandtime.io sends the fill-timesheet reminders automatically, on the dashboard, by email, and as an in-app popup. Managers approve or reject with one click straight from the email. Past periods lock on their own, with every approval and unlock timestamped, so the record stays final.
From there, tracked time becomes output you can act on: client-ready reports, cost and revenue breakdowns, project budget and margin visibility, and Excel or CSV exports ready to bill from. Multi-currency support and historical rates keep past reports accurate even after rates change.
What Sandtime.io will never do is watch your team. No screenshots, no keystroke logging, no activity scoring, no location tracking. Hours are self-reported declarations, which is why people actually open it in the morning.

What's new
- Sandtime.io now speaks French, next to English and Polish, and everyone on the team can pick their own language.
- Reports gained a summary view, grouping by single entry, and columns for the start and end time of every activity.
- Public holidays are marked on timesheets. An entry on a holiday, or one longer than 12 hours, asks for confirmation before it is saved.
- Archive the reports you no longer use, and create your own API keys in Settings.
- Sign in with Yahoo.
- Sandtime.io is free for unlimited users, with no seat count to watch.
What's fixed
- The running timer shows the right time when you come back to the app.
- A timesheet cell now says why a duration was rejected and keeps what you typed until you correct it.
- Sign-in on iPhone and iPad.
- On newer iPhones the bottom of the screen is no longer hidden behind the system bar.
- Reports load faster and no longer freeze on long date ranges.
