Search by Image is a powerful browser extension for Safari that makes effortless reverse image searches possible, and comes with support for more than 30 search engines, such as Google, Bing, Yandex, Baidu and TinEye. Search by Image is an open source project made possible thanks to a community of awesome supporters. By purchasing the extension on the App Store, you help support the continued development of the extension. The extension helps journalists and researchers verify the authenticity of images, and assists in the identification of false information on social media. Search by Image is also popular among photographers, helping artists explore how their work is shared on the web, while shoppers find it valuable for discovering similar products at discounted prices. The extension enables you to search for images from the browser menu with the help of a diverse set of reverse image search engines, which can be toggled and reordered from the extension's options. Visit the wiki for the full list of supported search engines. https://github.com/dessant/search-by-image/wiki/Search-engines PRO TIPS: • Search with an image by sharing it from Files or Photos. • Tap the Share button in the extension modal to extract an image from a web page and share it to other apps, such as Messages or Notes. You may choose to allow the extension to run on every website, or grant access to the current website before a search. When you grant access only to the current website, access must also be granted to each search engine in order to view search results. Images positioned at the selected area are detected regardless of how they were embedded in the page. The extension also supports searching with images from your device, and images from private sites. A handful of search modes are offered that serve different use cases. The search mode can be configured from the extension's options. Search modes: • Select URL: select an image on the page and search with the image URL. This is the default search mode. • Select image: select an image on the page and search with the image file. This search mode is preferred for sites which do not allow the direct linking of images, such as private sites. • Browse: search with an image from your device. Pasting images from the clipboard is also supported. • URL: search with an image URL. Works, don’t understand the settings

The extension seems to work well, thanks!I don’t understand what some of the settings do. Could you provide docs for them or help text on the settings page?For example, changing “search all engines” to “from browser menu” seems to stop showing the options when I activate the extension. So it’s no longer possible to change the image method (select image, select url, upload image, etc.) and no longer able to share. Very confusing.

Some users may want to quickly search with a single or a couple of search engines, and they don't use other features that are available in the extension popup. That option disables the popup and tapping the extension button will immediately start a search with the enabled engines. There is a plan to support customizable search engine groups, and the options will change when the new feature is introduced. We could add info buttons to the new options to help users configure the extension, and publish a wiki with more detailed information.Thanks for the feedback! Had an earlier review that wasn't completely fair to this developer, since they were not actually responsible for issues caused, but another developers extention causing conflict.This developer provided clear troubleshooting steps to get to root cause.This extention is also continued to be updated and improved and looks like it's going to be maintained for a long time to come. Definitely does what it says it does and in a nice clean way too with good configuration options.

I’ve allowed Permission but first info screen still blocks entrance

First screen directs you to allow this extension in Settings. I have done that. As well as go through all Settings to see if it is somewhere other than where they say. Nope. That initial screen is my entire experience with Search by Image. It will not go away. Have asked for refund. (You have to go into your Account and tap Purchases.) BTW, MacOS version of this app does not work either.

Deleted with disgust. Over an hour trying to figure out how this app functions. There are no specific instructions or manual anywhere. And his Support page is even more confusing, not to mention requires an account. I'm a smart guy and I know computers. Yet this is just too complicated for me. Another Developer who knows how it works and expects everyone to know what he does.

You've also submitted multiple negative reviews for the app on the App Store for each platform, and it seems you have purchased the app multiple times for each platform to then request chargebacks, when you could have purchased the app only once, which lets you install the extension on all supported platforms.
