I love Riverside! what used to take me ages and a lot of expense to film and edit podcasts and virtual courses now takes just a fraction of the time and cost. My team can access and edit from anywhere on any device- plus the magic clips are so helpful for repurposing content and getting ideas for social content to create from the videos we just produced. I DO wish that I could film vertically then rotate in the editor though- that would be a massive improvement. Overall, I’m a huge Riverside fan and would recommend it to anyone producing and editing video content.
ZERO stars. Terrible Video Quality

If you want terrible video quality, then this app is for you. Even the paid version provides zero video resolution options. Every video is out of focus and worthless to use if you want quality video. The customer service is subpar. No phone contact number for immediate help. The pro version on the computer is over $30 a month and they can’t even provide you with immediate service. Ridiculous! If you want to record on your phone and then edit on your computer, you have to pay for the Phone app and the computer access app. And even then it’s a moot point because the video quality is terrible even though you’re using a camera that has superb video quality. Useless. When questioned about the low video quality available through the mobile app their responses that it is supposed to be used for on the go. Well here is my response to that just because it’s on the go doesn’t mean that you don’t want or need quality video. Again this is a useless app. Look elsewhere. I had decided because of that that I would turn off my $9.99 mobile app subscription because I’m already paying over $31 a month for the computer subscription. And what did they do? They shut down both accounts.

It’s good but frustrating

I really like the concept, however, I can’t get around this app nor can I really appreciate the effort put into it since it is pretty cut and dry. I do my recordings on the computer but I have run into a few annoying problems since I first signed up, first off, there seems to be some bugs that happen during your meetings like: guests joining as audience members even when you clicked on ‘guest’, guests appearing twice in the meeting (two copies of them appear when watching the recording), audio will desynchronize at random moments in the recording, when reviewing your footage it only plays one screen at a time instead of both (or will play one screen at a time but the screen you are viewing will be paused while the audio from the other screen will play without imagery)…. As far as the app goes I am upset that you cannot review your studios at all like you can do on the website. This would make the app much better, all it appears you can do is host sessions and record but you would have to go to the computer to watch, review and export it.

Not liking the update.
The Real CoCo Butter
I was watching my most recent recording through the app on my iPhone. The video froze, but the audio kept going. I backed out and was informed that a new update was available. I decided to update the app. Now, when I go to watch that 2+ hour video that I was half way through, it will not let me forward to the point I left off. I scroll the bar to the closest spot and it just goes all the way to the end and the video starts from the beginning. I’m just trying to get through the whole video to see what needs to be edited out and don’t have the time to sit and rewatch the whole thing.Update: I noticed that I actually had to just tap the screen where I want the episode to pick up from, but the new problem I’m having is exporting clips and the sound just completely cutting out. I know it’s supposed to cut out background noise, but it cut out a whole portion of dialog. The camera even zooms on me as I’m speaking but no sound is coming out.
