Too many times I go to playback or save a video and then it tells me the clip is corrupted and it deletes it on its own. I even have SD cards in and it still does this at times. The Chillax Home camera will freeze or go slow motion and lose audio at the end of some video clips. I can’t recall if I experience that with the Giraffe which I use for my babies crib. The parent unit would be nicer if the picture actual fit the frame and you could move around zoom in, or if the parent unit would work with the Home cameras as it does not support those.Also, if I turn off someone ability to see the monitor that I share it with, it does not stop them from being able to view the camera. I have to uncheck the cameras they have access to because simply just turning their ability to view off doesn’t work or delete them entirely. And when you reject someone the video goes away but audio is still there. Lots of “bugs”But besides these minor issues, I enjoy this monitoring system and still would recommend it.

This app is awful. Caring for our twins is hard enough, and this app is too much of a daily frustration for us to continue using. It is so annoying to use every single time. Which is such a bummer if you’re looking for a monitor that allows for viewing from your phone. I prefer checking through my phone at night because the brightness is much lower. The lowest setting brightness on the parent unit is still too much for my eyes at night. The app constantly freezes, and takes what feels like 10 years to refresh and start the video stream. I’m CONSTANTLY closing it out and reopening in hopes that it will help, but it hardly ever does. It’s an overall really frustrating user experience. As a user experience designer, I give this app a 2/10. I also hate that when I’m waiting for the video to start up I have to see these random facts across the screen. They don’t do anything helpful for me as a user. Maybe I wouldn’t mind them if I only saw them for like 2 sec but since the app literally takes minutes to load video, it just is annoying to look at the useless fact slapped across what should be my baby’s face. I’m thankful we were gifted these monitors but I would be so mad if we spent our own money on these. We will be getting a new system all together and simply setting this aside for traveling use.

This camera is constantly disconnecting, I’m talking 20x a day it says it’s disconnected and/or there is no WiFi connection. We have a dozen other devices connected to our *very strong* WiFi, and this is the only one that has issues. We have re-set it up numerous times, reconnected to WiFi, etc and the same thing happens. AND even when it is connected, the app takes legit like 60 seconds to load (sometimes longer!!!!). If something was happening to my baby, 60 seconds could be life or death. The recordings are choppy (when it even actually records). The sound cuts in and out. And more than half the time, the screen just sits there with a loading wheel. It’s more stressful using this camera than not. We end up just going in a checking on baby because we can’t trust this stupid camera. I tried contacting the company about this (maybe we have a faulty one) but never got a response. Do not buy this if you’re looking for a camera to bring you peace of mind & reassurance that baby is okay. The camera misses A LOT of movements. I can’t tell you how many times we’ve gone in to the nursery & picked him up from his crib & the camera DID NOT RECORD ANYTHING. Like, what if my baby was being stolen (irrational fear but still)?! We would not have any footage to look at. Yesterday, my baby rolled over in his crib for the first time & THERE WAS NO RECORDING. How is a baby going to roll all the way over & the camera not catch the movement?? Also, if you use the “lullaby” sounds (which, admittedly, is a nice feature), the app doesn’t give you sound alerts!! So if we had the lullaby on & baby started crying, we wouldn’t know he was crying unless we happened to hear him ourselves because the app wouldn’t send us an alert. Wth is that?! This camera is not helpful at all. This is going in the TRASH. I would give it zero stars if I could. -signed, an angry mama

We bought the giraffe cam without the stand-alone monitor and use our iPhones with the background monitor feature. It is awful, we constantly wake up to it having crashed and no noise coming from our phones and restarting it all the time. It also cuts in and out a lot, not dependable. We had issues in our small condo, now we have issues in our new home with fiber internet and great coverage. Signal strength is almost 5 bars. We both have to use our phones at night in case the other phone app crashes. The other night I woke up to our son’s feint crying because BOTH our apps had failed, my wife didn’t wake up and thankfully I did. Who knows how long he was crying until I heard him, he was extremely upset. We can’t trust this product anymore and will trash it. Parenting is too hard and stressful as is for us to have to deal with garbage products like this
