VS provides a creative way to generate beautiful graphical representations of your music projects. Driven by both audio and MIDI data, VS is the visual equivalent of a traditional synthesizer.
VS takes the concept of music visualisation to a whole new level of customisation and expression, putting you in control and giving you the power to perform however you want.
VS is powered by 8 flexible layers which can use shaders, images or videos, allowing you to create generative graphics that you can interact with and layer on top of each other to create complex evolving visuals. With customizable parameters, a modulation matrix and an array of blend modes, use your audio and/or MIDI to trigger and manipulate your layers accordingly with your music. You can even import and create your own shaders to give your visuals a more personal feeling.
As the name suggests, VS - Visual Synthesizer can be played live like an audio synthesizer; use your MIDI keyboard to make each layer come alive with the concept of ‘polyphonic visual voices’.
As well as a standalone app, VS includes an AUv3 plugin version, so you can run it directly inside your favourite iOS DAW programs like AUM, Drambo, BAM, Cubasis, Loopy Pro, Groove Rider 2, Logic Pro etc. You can now give your existing projects a visual touch of creativity. Simply route the MIDI and audio of your tracks and watch the magic happen.
You can connect your mobile device to an external screen or projector for a live visual performance. If you prefer to create a video for your music, the built-in recorder lets you capture both visuals and audio. Record in landscape or portrait mode, with multiple output resolutions available.
We partnered with new media artist ‘Perplex On’ to bring you a factory preset bank full of amazing interactive visuals you can start using right away to create dazzling animations and make your music move in a whole new medium. This app is flat out amazing! None the less so because to my surprise it manages to run smoothly on my old iPad Air 2. I didn’t think it would. I’m sure I won’t be able to get too crazy with too many layers, but so far it does everything I need and more ... even while running as an AUv3 effect alongside other apps generating music. I’m floored!I always wanted something to easily produce video that reacts to audio being fed into it. But VS goes even further by reacting to midi input as well. There are four LFOs that can add undulations and all kinds of movement free running or in sync with musical tempo. I’m just completely amazed at this app. Thank you so much imaginando!

If your making music to share believe me when I say nobody is waiting in line to watch you fiddle around with touch screen knobs and such. Get this and take your performance videos to another level. VS paired with many inexpensive midi controllers such as the MiniLab3 is a live visual showcase waiting to happen. Do the tutorials so you don’t get frustrated like I did, I gave these guys a hard time about some things early on because I didn’t put the effort into learning it right away.. after a bit Imaginando has proven to be good at what they do and this app is spot on the market, worth the asking price, especially if you have had a hand in shaders.

Delivers another dimension to music

Not really interested in making videos so I was hoping it could be for use in a live setting using the iPad. To do that ios DAWs would have to be configured for video. Not aware of any but I did have success using screen mirroring to various TV displays using AUM and Camelot Pro. For live use I would think HDMI would be the way to link to external display. Stand alone should save audio file with the patch. Right now the audio file, if you loaded one, stays no matter what patch you bring up. Still gave it 5 stars as it has evolved since release and has so much potential.

Michael, thanks for your positive review. VS already responds to PC commands. Adding start/stop support to PC is questionable. Adding the audio/midi files to a patch is something we are already working on. You should really get in touch with us via our website chat. Not the easiest app to wrap your head around. I’d give more for a step by step tutorial. I understand the object of the app, just wish it was simple enough to link my audio and use IA. Spent an hour trying to add a file then still have not figured out how to play the video file to see the generative effects. I switch to an audio app or ven Zenbeats DAW…doesn’t work in it. Can’t even see it as a plugin or an IA option either so not really sure even. It’s definitely not Nodes but then again…its just an app. But pretty to look at thats for sure. Buyer beware.. app doesn’t instruct on where to even begin. Demos are polished to entice, but leave the user confused as to how to jump in and start.. is what it is.
