Your city is rewarding you for shopping local
Participating cities, counties, districts, and economic development organizations fund Open Rewards programs to support local businesses and keep more spending in the community.
Whether you're a resident or a visitor, you can earn cash back rewards on your purchases at eligible businesses in communities that have Open Rewards.
Open Rewards is live in 100+ cities across the country. Find eligible businesses near you, discover new local favorites, and see how rewarding choosing local can be.
Rewards program for your whole community
With Open Rewards, your points are not tied to a single brand or store, but are usable across all eligible businesses throughout your community.
This means you can earn rewards at one place and redeem them at another - for example, earn rewards at a restaurant, and redeem your rewards at the bookstore.
Earning is easy: either link your card to earn rewards automatically, or snap a photo of your receipt after you shop.
Once redeemed, you can cash out using PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, or check.
Where You Shop Matters
Every purchase is a vote with your wallet, and shopping local is a vote for your community.
When you shop at a local business, you help support local jobs, neighborhood amenities, and the places that make your community home.
Open Rewards makes it more rewarding to make that choice.
Every purchase counts. Together, we can make a big impact in the communities we call home.
I’ve been using Open Rewards for a while now, and I have to say—it’s one of the best reward programs out there! The concept is simple, but the benefits are amazing. Whether I’m shopping online or referring friends, the points add up quickly, and redeeming them is super easy. What I love most is how transparent and user-friendly everything is. There are no hidden hoops to jump through, and the app/website is incredibly intuitive. Plus, the variety of rewards keeps things exciting—it actually feels like I’m being appreciated as a customer.Open Rewards makes everyday shopping feel like a smart move. If you’re not already using it, you’re seriously missing out!

Hi there, thanks so much for using Open Rewards! We love hearing from our users and are so glad you’re finding value while supporting the great businesses in your area.
Great resource for $ back while shopping local!

I’m not sure why there are negative reviews, maybe more user error than anything. I’ve had an easy time navigating through app after reading instructions. When you go to claim credit it does take a few days up to a week to process funds, but i’m not complaining because it’s free money! Thank you for creating this resource and blessing us as we get to pour it into the small businesses in our community!

Love the concept!

While the app is pretty confusing to use and could benefit from some major UX improvements, the concept is great and I appreciate the city funding this. I’ve been able to have some fun lunch outings with my son for free with the money I received, and it’s pretty generous that you can earn money in rewards while you’re redeeming them at the same time! I hope they add more restaurants because that’s what I use it for.

Overall pretty good!

The app seems to overall work fairly well. Though it’s easy to search for the business to claim a reward, it seems as though you should also be able to search your bank’s transactions to quickly locate and match the purchase. Or better yet, once you link your favorite business (Chipotle on Main St) to a how it shows up as a bank transaction (Chipotle #1055), why not have an option to always link to that same business and transaction going forward? It seems as though possibly this process is made intentionally harder on purpose, to limit users from taking full advantage of the program. ???It also takes up to a few weeks to get many of the rewards to post for some reason. Hopefully the developers can look into these minor flaws, as the concept is really great!
