WAVE Tactical Communicator supports WAVE Server Release 5.19.1 and newer, and will operate in the following environments.
• Public cellular networks, if the device is Mobile Device Managed and configured in Supervised mode
• Private cellular network
• Pre-configured Wi-Fi networks
• Via a VPN over Wi-Fi and cellular networks
Note: For use with Wi-Fi networks, the Wi-Fi must be configured via in App Settings under
Configure Wi-Fi.
Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.
This app is so much worse than the first one. We use this for our fire department. Why would you have it disconnect when it doesn’t have Wi-Fi. I don’t need a scanner around Wi-Fi I have one that plugs into the wall for that. Also now I can’t even sign in. Keep saying password incorrect but it won’t give me the line to put the password in. The old one way nice. It ran in the background and didn’t have to worry about missing anything. Please fix this or bring back the old one. This is junk!

Apple’s recent iOS changes had serious negative impacts on background app behavior. These recent updates resolved those issues and, if using management devices, battery drain can be kept in check.

Garbage Wave App
Now I know why this app has such awful reviews. Was forced to get it for work. It constantly tries to send the app to any and every nearby device via Apple Airplay even though I have disabled all of the settings in the app and on my phone that I can find. It is the only app on my phone that does this automatically and constantly every time I lock the screen. That on top of all of the other issues well documented by other users.

This app is NOT an upgrade from the previous one. Self opens despite being closed. Phone registers it as a phone call, ultimately sucking the life out of your mobile battery. Constant disconnections despite Wi-Fi availability.
This update fixes a case where the application was recommending an unnecessary upgrade to 6.x.x application.
