Long time happy "lifetime" SplashID user, but then updated from last version when I got a new laptop. At first my lifetime subscription was honored, but after a month of use, I got a message that I had to pay the subscription fee or be limited to 40 records (I have 900). I was not warned about this and did not see a way around it, so I paid the fee. Highly annoying. Beyond that, it is worse in every way than the previous version. Before when you opened the app, the cursor was automatically in the search field, so that I could open the app and just type the first few letters of the entry and it popped right up. Now I have to click in the field, and often I type a letter and the program hiccups and the cursor jumps out of the field. I often click on an entry and the display erratically shows something else. It is also MUCH slower than the previous version. This happens on all three of my devices, phone and two laptops, one Intel and one M2. I can only hope that the developer fixes these glitches or I will look elsewhere for a password manager.
Well , I'm a happy camper!

I migrated to SplashID Pro 9 a few days ago, and I want to add my very positive review. I've been a SplashID user since 2003, and I had a really messy file, developed on many different PCs and Macs over the years, so I was very concerned it wouldn't migrate well. I also knew it was time to organize the mess, but I decided to do the cleanup on 9. So I made a backup, set myself up for cloud sync, and gave it a try. Migration was flawless once I found the migrate link--turns out you have to have the app in full screen mode to see it. I learned that from a very helpful support person via email not long after I'd sent my question. No trouble transferring my lifetime subscription, either. Then I started editing. Considering the age of my file and the assortment of changes I made over the years, I wasn't surprised to find some weird characters. I created some new categories and eliminated some old ones; ditto for types. I synced frequently to make sure I hadn't lost anything. I finally ended up with a clean listing of records, with over a third that I'd archived for further study later. Then I put SplashID Pro 9 on my iPhone, and the sync was flawless. I'm delighted with the new system and my new level of organization!
Forced to leave after using for many years
MacMusicPro
I've been a long-time SplashID user with nearly 1,200 records and data kept safely for a very long time. With this latest update, I wasn't too annoyed with the forced paid upgrace to Pro 9....BUT what I found very disheartening was when I started up my new iPhone, the app vanished from all App stores on Apple. No iOS app and nothing in the desktop macOS App store. So after converting my entire database over to Pro 9, the app itself disappears from the App stores??? I started pursing other options and highly rated solutions simliar to SplashID. I think I've found a solid, highly-rated, keeper of my most sensitive data. The second reason I need to leave Splash is that their platform data will NOT play nice with any other data keepers. So the painstaking tasks of migrating away from Splash are daunting, but I'm willing to clean up all that data to operate on a reliable platform. I did email support and a few days later they messaged me back saying they had it "fully fixed" and I should check again (on the App store). Although the App is back, I'm still skeptical mainly because this isn't just grocery shopping lists we're keeping here...it's the most sensitive data we have! It's time to part ways unfortunately.
V9 is a Great Upgrade

I’m guessing many of the poor reviews are related to previous/beta versions of this app. I just finished upgrading from V8 to V9 and so far haven’t seen any of the issues others have reported. I much prefer the new interface and the app is much faster. I really like that I can still choose to keep all of my data local, and 2FA is a great addition. My data rransfer was simple enough. I had to replaced a few of my custom icons, but no biggie. I was very pleased that Splash Data is honoring Lifetime Subscriptions from V8 for V9. I’ve seen other apps use upgrades as a way to screw lifetime subscribers to generate more subscriptions (Hello Wondershare!). Customer service was excellent. My concerns were addressed with only 2 emails and responses from Ram were very timely. All-in-all, I’m very pleased with the upgrade.V9.3 UpdateThis was a great update that addressed all of the major glitches I’ve noticed (long load/refresh time, biometric support on Mac, overlapping fields in a record). Well done, guys!
- Fixed an issue where records became unreadable after Wi-Fi sync due to incorrect Base64 encoding.
- Fixed an issue where the app remained in edit mode after saving records from Favorites.
