When I heard that the FIFA Club World Cup was going to be in Philly, I immediately tried booking a hotel near the venue through the hotel’s website but the dates were blocked. So, I did a random search for the dates on Google and Vio popped up with the same hotel but the dates were open. I ended up booking through Vio for a fraction of what the nightly rates were when the dates were finally released. I’ll admit that I was skeptical about my reservation but when I called the hotel at a later time, they confirmed my reservation. We made the trip, stayed in the awesome hotel and got to see our favorite futbol team win their match. Since then I check Vio whenever we are traveling!

Horrible experience - Avoid this app at all cost

I had the worst experience booking through them. I booked for a hotel near Bryce Canyon for a check in at 11/28. Booking was done on 11/5 for a pay later option and free cancellation until 11/17. I got a confirmation immediately that my booking was confirmed on 11/5. On 11/17 my card was charged. On 11/23 I called the hotel for a general question question regarding a room amenity. To my surprise, the hotel just told me that there is no reservation under my name. They told me that the reservation was canceled for some reason and I should call the 3rd party company who I booked with. What happened next was a painful ordeal of dealing with customer care. They don’t have a phone number to call. The only option is via chat. I stayed on chat with the customer care for hours just to find out that my reservation was canceled by the hotel and they can’t do anything. I was just left in the hanging with my trip completely screwed up. Just think out this, if my reservation was canceled or not confirmed, they dint even bother to inform me. They happily charged my card and left me in dismay. Avoid at all cost. Would request Apple to take this app down for humanity sake 🙏🏻🙏🏻

Lying customer service and fraud/fake customer agent

Made a booking for hotel this weekend and accidentally made a typo on the reservation name. Tried calling the customer service written in the email to change the name or add a friend to the reservation so that we could verify the ID and check in. Took 30 minutes to transfer to various lines and meet an agent who said they’ll check on the hotel if that is possible, and the agent said that is unavailable. When I asked the hotel, it said those features are available but I should do them through Vio, so the agent lied and blamed the hotel. Called the agent back, and the agent named Charles said that they’ll make a cancelation with full-refund on the reservation that we already made and will book another reservation with the friend’s name. So we waited and checked back on the hotel lobby if the original one was canceled and new reservation was made. Apparently, the original one was canceled but no new reservation was made. So we called Vio again to check on it, and another agent told me that they’re looking on it but they can’t process it at the time so we should call back tomorrow morning. We waited for 2 hours at the hotel lobby in the midnight for nothing and head back home in a 40 minute uber ride.Called Vio back the another day, and apparently there was no agent named Charles that I talked to, and everything was a lie and false information. Wasted money and time and energy.

Took my money no hotel booked

I used the Vio app to purchase a same-day hotel booking. After entering my card info, the processing screen got stuck for several minutes. I tried to wait it out but it was clearly not processing, so I had to navigate from the page to use my phone. I checked my email, no hotel confirmation. I checked my bank account, and the $333 was charged to my card. “Customer service” is only accessible by sending a message and hoping to hear back. When I did hear from them (after I had to book elsewhere) they responded that the error was caused by… and never filled in the black! Clearly it was a copy-paste email. Now, it’s 4 days later and the charge is STILL pending on my card! My bank can’t do anything until Vio releases the hold or finalizes the charge. Either way, this caused me to lose availability of my funds on a lousy app that couldn’t work once. Avoid at all costs!
