The Vault is an application for iOS devices that securely stores all of your confidential passwords, PINs, credit and debit card information, bank account numbers, etc.
Some of the features of The Vault are:
- The program never uses the Internet or the "cloud". There are no "servers". There is no sharing of data. The data is stored exclusively on your iOS device. Everything you do is completely private to your device, except when you use the Web Export feature. There are no in-app purchases, and no advertisements.
- It uses a well-known standard encryption algorithm to protect your data.
- Your password, which unlocks the vault, is never stored anywhere on your iOS device.
- You can set up a number of different groups to organize your data, such as personal or business.
- The Web Export feature, which implements a mini-webserver, allows the user to connect his or her computer to the iOS device via a Wifi network connection and view, download or upload Vault data using only a Web Browser. This mini-webserver feature is very secure, as it uses the industry standard HTTPS secure protocol to protect all network communications. For security reasons, this mini-webserver feature is only enabled when the user desires, and requires the use of a one-time password to allow the connection.
- It supports multiple Vault Databases. You can switch between databases, create new ones, upload or download them via the Web Export mini-webserver, copy them to other iOS devices, etc.
- It allows export and import of Vault Data to XML files, for use with your computer.
- Master password entry is confirmed via requiring the new password to be entered twice.
- Custom fields are supported. You can add or remove fields with custom titles.
Easy to use app to store all your passwords in. You can print everything in it too if you want to have a physical backup to keep in a secure location. Would recommend
A Very Useful Program

I think this is a very useful program. I have stored all my credit card data, my web-site passwords, my computer passwords, bank card pins, and other stuff on it, and I have found it very handy to have this information available wherever I am. I also think that the user interface for this program is easy to use. I can get to the data I need with just a couple of taps. I looked at the previous comments, and I disagree. Many of them seem to be from people who never bought the program, and the complaints about being unable to contact the developers aren't true. I was able to ask a question of the developers using the email address on their web site, and got a quick and useful answer.
Great for what I need.....but....

I think it's great for storing some of my important information however, in the middle of entering information the application will just quit and take me back to the home screen on my iPhone. This has happened several times! So I end up having to enter the info. for that particular entry in again. SOOOOOO Frustrating!!!!!! This is something that should be looked into and FIXED! You can add your own groups now though. One good thing I guess!
Improvement suggestion and concern.

I like the interface and ease of entering info. However, I finished an entry and turned off my ipod. When I turned the unit on several hours later, the VAULT opened to the screen with all my passwords. Apparently you need to press your home button when done in order to "close" the vault. This should be a fix in a future release that it autocloses on power-down. Secondly, I was concerned when another reviewer stated that this data is transmitted over the internet. I need to know if this is in fact true. If so, I will use another application.
