The ap itself provides articles you can click on and read. For that purpose alone it works as stated and should. I have been using yahoo since the 90’s and have seen all of their changes come and go and while the design and featured content on this ap is probably the worst I have seen from them, it is straight forward and functions as you would expect. The only downgrade as far as the news section I have is how they change article headlines. You see a headline, read an article in the morning. Later on you come across a new headline about the topic and think oh, new info let me check it out. When you open and start reading, you discover it is the exact same article you read earlier. When trying to continue discussions on the other hand the ap really fails. Half of your comment history doesn’t show up, and with the ones that do show, several of them if you click on the comment it doesn’t lead you to where your comment is, just the article in general. To get around this I tried viewing in browser where all comments show up, and some comments will take you to the location in browser, but most jump to the ap store telling you to download yahoo news ap. So if you actually care about being able to track your comment history to engage with people do not bother with this ap.Update: well aware that can click the icon to view comments. The issue is when clicking on the comment after clicking on user profile picture sometimes it takes you to the comment, sometimes just the article, and sometimes it just takes you to the download the app page. Also, sometimes when viewing comment history in the app, it does not show comments that appear when viewing comment history in browser.

I used to enjoy the service when it had the ability to comment because that was the only way to gain other perspectives because yahoo news is completely biased in favor of mainstream media outlets that are focused solely on criticizing him instead of reporting fairly and offering differing views. The comments section gave us conservatives an ability to connect with each other and see that many do not support many of the stories in yahoo and we had the platform to expose the lies and false reporting. And now they removed comments .... freedom of speech is under attack and this is just another example of this fact. Beware of mainstream news people ! This is coming from one who works in politics and who has a degree in political science and criminal justice, with a minor in sociology. Do not scoop up everything as fact. Yes, the overall stories are real.. that’s not what we’re calling out... what’s false is the biased reporting on the stories. Remember, they all have an agenda and media is a massive tool for doing whatever they want. Just look at China and N. Korea. Their ability to use media to control their people is a perfect example of the type of situation going on here In America. And it continues to get worse with the rise of radical liberalism. Extremist groups on the far left now control the Democratic Party and the “moderates”.. and media is their tool for manipulation. Please do research and inform yourselves before accepting whatever view each article intends to give you.

This one type of techno company called yahoo itself all alone in particular should always make sure that all of its own types of software programs and apps aside from just this one type of Yahoo type of software program and app called Yahoo News itself all alone in particular are all always actually able to be made available as much as possible for as long as possible on all types of stores existing all throughout the internet themselves all as a whole in general(Google’s own Google Play Store, Apple’s own App Store, etc.) and that both all of these types of software products made by Yahoo themselves all as a whole in general(software programs, apps, etc.) aside from just this one very type of software program and app from Yahoo called Yahoo News App itself all alone in particular are all always actually able to be made as compatible as possible on all types of techno products in general and are all always actually able to be translated into all foreign languages in general and everything.

The prior version of this app was my go to news app and had everything I wanted. It was laid out like a customizable newspaper with your main news section, world news, sports, local news, etc. that you could rearrange, add, or modify. You could also set up sections with specific news sources. I loved it because it was like a newspaper, but it also gave me a balanced version of what was happening from different sources, different perspectives, and allowed you to cover almost every categories of the news you could possibly imagine. It was glorious.The new version appears to be designed in order to eliminate your choices. Now there are FAR less categories to choose from, the layout is muddled (the sections all blend together), a lot of the categories are complete fluff, and there is no way to choose specific news sources. Instead of showing you news by sections, it appears to be pushing whatever the most popular clickbait story is. It also looks like it is trying to imitate a social media feed, just with all news stories picked by Yahoo. It also has tiny font and too much AI bullet points built in. The new update is just a dumbed down version of the Yahoo news app.I guess I’ll go back to my old news app sources until they fix this pile of hot garbage that is their new update (or give you the choice to use a traditional layout)…they completely ruined this one.
