If your schedule varies from week to week, keeping track of your working days can be a chore, and it’s often difficult to quickly figure out when you’ll be on-duty weeks or months in the future.
Scheduler to the rescue! Designed for public-service employees such as police officers, firefighters and health-care workers — anyone who works an unusual but predictable schedule — Scheduler always shows your schedule for the next six years from “today.” Common shift schedules are built-in, such as the “Berkeley” (a.k.a. “California”), “48-96” and “Dupont,” but you can easily change them or create other repeating schedules covering any number of days. See the screenshots (here and on the web site) for some examples. And there’s even a “Doofus” mode for showing irregular schedules (e.g., health-care workers).
If your spouse/partner works a shift schedule, too, you can have that entirely different rotation appear on the calendar with yours. This will help you organize family activities such as vacations and day-care.

My husband and I have rotational shifts and so this app is a life saver for us. But to keep the clutter down of events I prefer to use emojis for the event title. That option seems to have gone away? Why?! It’s frustrating having so many events titled on one day and I tend to miss something if I don’t read each one carefully. I preferred using emojis to keep it easier and with less clutter. Also PLEASE get rid of the time zones!!!!! It doesn’t matter where I am when I put an appointment in my calendar, the time of the appointment is still the same no matter where I am. I can make the mental hour change myself if I know I’m in a different time zone but at least I’ll know what time the appointment is! This has caused a lot of problems for me with the app changing the times for my appointments.

First off, THANK YOU Jeff for the recent updates!!!I’ve worked shift work (rotating days off, platoon, fixed 4-10s) for 15 years. I came across this app in 2009. I took a chance and bought this app. I have used it since. It has everything you need to map out your work schedule. I’m a visual person so this app allows me to customize my calendar with color and markings. It’s not hard to use. You can always email Jeff for assistance. I’d highly recommend this app!!!

I have been using this app for several years now and love it. It is far better than keeping a pocket calendar with me when scheduling appointments or making plans with family and friends. I have a rotating schedule which is not in the app but I was able to put my schedule in manually. I can see what my schedule is going to be next year rather than trying to figure it out. If you have rotating days off this is what you need to keep your life in order.

I have a 8 day rotation with the fire dept.. 1 day on 2 days off 1 day on 3 days off. Once I set the rotation, it goes on for years and years. I’m able to see my schedule years ahead. Also, it is connected to my Apple calendar. When I make appointments on my Apple calendar, it’s linked to this one. I’ve been using this calendar for 15 years. I hope to use it 15 more.

1. Bug fix: After updating, some people saw an incorrect dialog saying that your new version was old. Sorry about the confusion.
2. Known issue: Wi-Fi and Bluetooth sharing does not always work.
