good mash of puzzle quest and scrabble

This is a good if short game. You make up words from a stack of tiles to defeat several monsters. Every word you make damages the monster while they hit you. Your health bar is essentially a timer; the monsters hit you with a set frequency reducing your health. If your health hits 0 it's game over. There are 25 dungeons with 6 monsters in each. Once in while, when you defeat monsters you can get skill or health or luck increase (increases your chance of magic items). You'll also get special tiles that are health potions or extra damage. There's no save so you need to start from the beginning.

Once you finish there's not much reason to play over except to get a higher score. And the gameplay isn't that varied. It'd be nice for the monsters to have more character. For example, some need you to make 4 letter words to damage them but otherwise they only really vary in their health.

So disappointing!

This game was a huge disappointment! I beat it in a few days of playing it on and off. I was expecting there to be a few more levels after I beat the first set of dungeons but that was not the case. Kind of a waste and not worth the repeat play. I honestly felt kind of cheated with this game.

Great word game, and this coming from a virgin to the "word/spelling" genre

i am not a big player of the many word games out there, but the style of this one (dungeon crawling) took my interest. i am doing very well in the kid difficulty, so that builds confidence, and the ability to see words quicker, so i can move back to the normal difficulty.
i like the addition of "magic" tiles, if you use them in the game they do more damage, or even find the best possible word to use (oracle tile), i used the oracle special tile once, and it made a word worth 720 damage, 60k points with a bonus of 20k, so if you save the oracle magic tile for a "boss" monster, it works out great. you can also get a potion to get back health. you will also uncover books that allow you to choose a little boost of some sort (as seen in the pictures).
the game at it's base is, spell a word witht he tiles provided to cast a spell, while you take damage over time from the monster your facing. you have to kill a certain number of monsters to get through that level of the dungeon and move on to the next level. i didn’t realize this at first and died on normal trying to figure out more words to spell.
