I started out with a Photoshop/Light room package around 5 years ago, then upgraded to a Creative Cloud package that includes everything I need and then some. Paid for expanded cloud storage as well. I just bought a new iMac desktop. While setting it up, in regard to apps ... I will follow my own rule ... often learned the hard way ...over the years via my iPhone and iPad. Before buying an app, ask yourself if the task you want to achieve isn’t already covered by the Adobe apps you already have. If Adobe offers a new app, specially engineered for your own needs, buy it. As iOS versions continue to evolve, the more apparent it becomes. The peace of mind, venues for tech support, reliability and persistent cross-platform performance endemic to an Adobe-centric approach becomes that much more abundantly, frustratingly clear. I am no fan of monopolies. From a pragmatic standpoint, much as I like to support enterprising entrepreneurs, neither can I risk investing money, and mostly, a massive amount of time and off-the-path learning curve in an app that is likely as not to be gone by next year. Trust me on this one, Like most, I had to learn the hard way. I’ve bought more than a few apps that did everything I needed and paid for ... until, with an update of the IOS, the developers picked up their toys and left, their apps never to be seen or used again. If Adobe does not produce it, honestly ask yourself if you really need another app. Spend the money, keep it in the family, and know that you will be on top of your game, playing on a level playing field with anyone or any organization on the Internet.
