So here’s the long story short, one of the main reasons I like to use trivago is because it’s actually easy to find stuff. Look I’ll give you a great example with this trip, I have an Airbnb account. I went to my Airbnb first to look forward myself and everything I found was terrible. From being honest like it was horrible and the cost was outrageous like everything was just bad. So I went to my trivago account and I decided to use that. I said well if that’s the case, I guess I’m just gonna go ahead and get two hotel rooms for me and my kids. After going to Going to trivago’s account, they brought me back to an Airbnb. (?) I have no clue how I didn’t find what they found but they actually found me something better than what I was looking and at a way better price than all of the terrible houses I was finding on my own. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for an Airbnb or a Hotel

How trivago let’s stay for Long on its website

I used trivago a few times and some of these out of Country hotel suppliers can be difficult.I was down in Augusta, Georgia for the masters golf tournament. I rented a room from Sonesta. Hotel from April 3 through April 8, then from April 8 through April. I had confirmation from stay for less got to the hotel. They had no information I spent. 12 hours in the lobby, trying to get this sorted and trying to get through stay for less finally at 5 AM I was told to pay whatever the hotel was asking that they would get back to me after the resolution center came up with a solutionI spent hours upon hours with no resolution they wanted me to go to a different hotel but they wouldn’t even have an address for me. I spent $1100. With stay for less on my two reservations. And then spent $700 additionally to the hotel directly for the first five nights over 20 emails and countless hours on the phone with themNo way to have any customer service with trivago let alone will stay for less was a joke was left high and dry and out now $1800 which I have to fight to get back! After this experience, I don’t think I’ll ever use trivago againAnd 1,000,000% I will talk very badly about both trivago and stay for less accompany out of Spain.
Lost 244 dollars to one of their “Major booking sites”

I recently went through Trivago to book a hotel in Tampa. It led me to a booking site called Algotels. I paid for the room, but never got a confirmation number, so on the day before I was supposed to leave I called them to cancel. They said they would refund me and I ended up booking through the hotel website. They confirmed my room and gave me a confirmation number. Then I got an email mail from Algotel not only refusing to refund me, but they gave me the same email confirmation number I booked MYSELF through the hotel. I complained to Trivago and they said they couldn’t do anything because it was a 3rd party site. BEWARE! Trivago does not hold these 3rd party sites responsible, nor does it seem like they vette any of these sites for legitimacy. You are out on a limb, once you make an interaction. I may not get my money back, but at least I may help someone else from making the same mistake.UPDATE: Trivago vettes ADVERTISERS, not booking agencies. My mistake. What are people downloading Trivago for? Advertisements? Folks there you have it, straight from the source itself. Again, learn from my mistake and save your money.

Hello, We are sorry to hear about your negative experience! Please know that all advertisers who wish to display their deals on trivago are subject to a vetting process. Algotels has gone through this process as well. For further support, please reach out to us directly: http://trv.to/9BwTBest, Amber @trivago
Horrible experience

What you need to know. When you book through Trivago, you absolutely one hundred percent are not guaranteed to receive that booking. Booked a hotel through Trivago, got a confirmation. Drove 3 hours to a crowded unfamiliar city. Went to check in at the hotel and was told by the hotel manager that the hotel was overbooked and that third party booking agents had been informed it was overbooked and to contact their bookings to let them know. The couple in line in front of me was told the same thing. I was not contacted obviously. I tried to contact Trivago who said I needed to contact the booking agent they had sent me to. Customer service was almost nonexistent for Trivago and the booking agent they sent me to. Their resolution was to book me at another hotel miles from my original booking. I was never contacted by phone, the only contact is by chat and a lot of that is AI. They said I couldn’t get a refund since they found another booking for me, keep in mind that was miles away. I was finally able to get a refund. I hope I’m never misguided enough to try this app again!!
