In 2015 we were on the upswing from a bad work/relocation choice that cost us dearly, not the least of which being our ‘big bank’ we were at and trusted had screwed us over with a deposit situation that ‘would take 30 days to clear up’ with zero regard for our tight spot. We needed a second car and had to use a ‘buy here-pay here’ type place. They got us financing through Workers CU. WCU made the process SO incredibly easy, made us feel valued, and while we did have to provide addtl documentation it was all logical stuff within the realm of sanity vs ‘just because’. Most importantly to us at a time where we were reeling from the embarassment of a year of bad choices and VERY difficult times for us - WCU treated us as we were - good people who 95% do the right thing but were in a rough patch. Because of WCU’s approach to our car loan we moved everything over to them, and have been with them 11 happy years now. Things in life change. I really hope WCU isn’t one of them. Thankfully in part to WCU’s way of doing business our financial situation WAS within the next 2 years. We’ll be customers for life.

I have used WCU for over 25 years. They are fantastic about giving you ways to make your money work for you. Their mortgages interest rates are consistently lower than anyone else. They have amazingly high interest rates for checking accounts. Plus they have the give back program where they give back money to all members each year.

I do not like how they treat their customers. I was told my car was out for repo for a demand letter that was not satisfied (I never received a letter) I had a payment arrangement. I paid my November payment and I was going to pay a double payment in January…. But apparently there was a demand letter that was suppose to be satisfied by the end of December that I didn’t know about. I rushed to the bank to pay December (couldn’t deposit money) to pay my bill. A lady had to do an override just so I could pay my payment and she told me my car was not out for repo. Yet, the lady I was dealing with on the phone told me she was putting the repo on hold and charging me $125 for a repo fee. I am not happy with this bank or how they treat their customers. The pandemic has made things hard but I have still paid all my payments in the last 3 years, and when times get tough Workers Credit Union makes things worse for families. I’m very disappointed in this bank.

I stopped going to my local branch because one of the customer service people always looks like he’s half asleep and hasn’t shaven in about three weeks. The next town over there much more professional. What I hate is the way everything works mechanically within. I had an overdraft, which was my fault, I paid the overdraft fee, but two weeks later I pay another $25 for a retry fee. It had been two weeks since they paid the bill. Just when I thought I had a couple dollars left to my name I’m down another 25. I just wish it all happened electronically right away so I know what I’m dealing with. Very unpredictable bank.
