I mostly use this for curbside pickup but also a few times for delivery. I really like being able to add things to my cart when I think of them, then finish the order when I'm ready to pick up. I really like the Past Purchases listings. My store is quite fast about bringing out my groceries after I arrive. I still don't like this app as well as the old Peapod app it replaced. This one still can't do substitutes. The feature is there but it never actually shows me the offered substitute item like Peapod did. It feels like this was designed first as a tool for in store shopping, with on line ordering tacked in. There is an awful lot of clutter for features I never need or use. So, the in store shoppers are complaining because this combined function app isn't as clean and easy to use as its predecessor because of the extra clutter and the on-line shoppers are complaining because it's not as clean and easy to use as Peapod. Why did they ever decide to combine them?

The app does not appear to sync with the data on my Giant card. I review the weekly ad and load digital coupons to my card from my laptop mostly because it’s easier to see an easier to use than the app however when I’m in the store using the handheld device, I find that very few of my digital coupons are included in the app then the app makes me login question why was I ever logged out because I don’t log out of the app it lives on my iPhone when I do manage to login awkwardly on the app then I have to take the time to scroll through the plethora of digital coupons in order to reload the coupons onto the app because it doesn’t recognize the coupons loaded on the card prior to the session. What a mess so my feedback essentially boils down to, one please ensure that any digitally loaded coupons are recognized both by your website and buy the app without me having to synchronize them to fix it so I only have to log into the app one time and that every time I wanna use it otherwise I might as well just hold the paper flyer around with me and not use a handheld device, then scan my cashier receipt to make sure that all the coupons were included i’m sure you can see how unproductive this is and, by the way there appears to be no way to provide you feedback about the app while using the app hence this review I also use the app of a couple of your competitors and they are far easier to use Hoping you will see and fix this catch 22 Long time customer but frustrated with the lack of handoff between Acct, Web Site, and App

Edit: nothing I am selecting from the weekly ad or coupons list is being added to my shopping list. I even went to the shopping list and tried to add something and it didn’t show up. It’s a good thing I hate Safeway more than I hate this app. I have religiously shopped at Giant for two and a half years using the old version of this app and it was wonderful. If I had one complaint about it it would be that the items you selected appeared on your shopping list in the order you selected them instead of by their location in the store. Still, all in all an easy to use and very convenient app. Fast forward to 10 days ago...I can’t make heads or tails of what’s happened. You clip coupons but the items don’t appear on your shopping list. You search the weekly ad and when you tap on something to add it to your list, it brings up every single variation of that item available in the store (like all six degrees of pulp Tropicana orange juice offers) and when you select what you want it ends up in your shopping cart instead of on your list. Sometimes if you tap on something, like ground beef, a message appears that says there was a problem finding related products; I don’t want related products I want ground beef and I can’t even add THAT to my shopping list OR to the shopping cart. I have to make a paper and pencil list to go to the store tomorrow because I can’t figure out the changes to this app...and I have a college degree. If I weren’t moving away I’d be shopping for a different grocery store.

This app has the basics of trying to be convenient, but sadly it falls very short in saving me time. It crashes constantly, like at LEAST a half dozen times during one order. The function of remembering items from your previous order is tedious. It repeats ALL the items 2-3 times as you are scrolling through. If you click on an item and then go back, oftentimes you are sent back to the beginning of the list where you then have to go through ALL the duplicates again to get back where you left off. If you’re using the previous purchase option, and you’re not particular on the brand you bought last time but just want one on sale, you have to search anew anyway to find the deals. The substitutions and comments are not remembered from one order to the next, so you have to add them every single time. When you do a search, oftentimes the search will say nothing is found, try a different word, but in reality the search actually did pull up exactly what you wanted with that word. You can’t always clip the coupons directly from the ad. The discounts where you have to buy several qualifying items don’t tell you exactly what you have to buy, you just get a huge list of qualifying items to weed through. The free item “up to $5” when you spend $30 on their own brand, always gives you the lowest priced item instead of something close to $5. In my case it’s always the 1 litre bottle of Giant seltzer for less than $1, like .50 or .80. I end up doing 2 orders with the seltzer waters separate so I can get a worthwhile item for free. As it should be. I get so frustrated at how much time I waste using this app.
