Disclaimer:
1) SmartBP allows you to record, track and analyze trends in your blood pressure. You can either manually enter your records or use a blood pressure monitor to sync with SmartBP through Apple Health. I love this app. I just purchased the upgrade so i could track my wife’s data as well. A couple of things:1.would like to be able to easily transfer data from one user to another as i forgot to go back to my user area and instead entered my data for several measurements into my wife’s data.2.would prefer the weight data to remain the same once entered so i would not have to go back to the pinwheel each time to enter progressive data. Weight does not vary but by small amounts if at all so keeping it at the previous measurement until i enter the new data would also keep the charts more accurate if i do not weigh every day.3.would like to see some of the tags on the main screen for my user data or maybe be able to show data for all users with tags delineating whose data is whose as comparison without having to use the filters.Overall i like this user friendly functionality. Terrific job !!!

Thanks for the great feedback! Highly appreciate it!1 and 3 noted. We will plan these features in a future release. In the interim, A quick way of updating your wife’s data would be to export a CSV file, copy it into your folder and and importing this file into the desired profile. If you have any questions on how to do this, please send me a message on support@evolvemedsys.comFor 2, you can do this by setting your weight in the profile screen. Then it will stay in this weight and you can change it whenever you need to. Again send me a message if you have any questions.Again Thanks for the feedback 🙏🏼
If you have big fingers or a smaller watch…
Uh huh.
This app has a lot to offer. I like how you can add specific tags and notes per reading, scroll through previous readings, see them graphed, etc. The phone is much easier to use and navigate than the watch. On the phone, as soon as you add sys, it automatically moves to dia, then pulse, then weight, and finally tags and other useful information. HOWEVER, on the watch, you have to select each section individually. That’s a tiny screen. There are four individual spaces you must select before you can add data. And it won’t save until you have entered data for each space. If you have big fingers, it’s tedious work. The watch does show similar stats when you scroll through the screen. One way shows you an average and deviation for the sys/dia for the last month. The other way shows your most recent three data entries. It would make more sense if the first entry you saw was your most recent, though. It would make it easier to try to deduce what has personally or environmentally changed between the two readings to better understand their differences. You could always go to the phone to see the information, but it’s not immediately available on the data history. You need to select each entry individually to see tags and determine if you want to read corresponding notes. I really appreciate the ability to use the watch for data entry, but it’s more time consuming than just using my phone. (So I guess I just need to keep better track of my phone.)

Thanks for the detailed review and feedback. We will start looking into ways of further improving the watch app’s user experience. If you are interested in helping us with feedback on our new design, send us an email on support@evolvemedsys.com
Basic but does the job
StaMike
I’ve been using this app for a few years. It’s pretty basic but it does the job. Provides data numerically and in chart form which is helpful. My gripes include: 1/ Unattractive, bulky design. 2/ Awkward UI forces order of entry at beginning, so while I may have most of the data for the end of a reading, I can’t enter it until the BP is recorded at the very beginning. 3/ Creating history reports is limited and not intuitive. PDF format is fine but there are few options for saving/sharing destination. I’d like to save directly to Drive but it’s not an option. I have to email it to myself, then save to Drive from there. I get the option to send direct to doctor via email, but my doc communicates via a portal, not email. So it’s a 3-step process to save to my own files, and a 4-step process to share with my doctor. Screen data is displayed in color indicating optimal, normal, grade 1, 2, 3, etc. according to limit values, however, history reports are generated in BW (the SmartBP logo is in color, though), making it impossible to glean anything from a quick glance. But the charts come in handy as a remedy. Date range selection takes some getting used to - you have to adjust the year before month/day or your attempts are rejected w/o explanation. There are other little niggly things, but you’ll have your own after you use it for awhile. All in all, I think it’s the highest rated app for BP tracking - I would have rated 3.5 instead of 4 if I had the option - and I obviously haven’t 86ed it. Like I said, it basically does the trick.
Developer Response
Wow. This is very insightful. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. We will make sure we address your concerns. With reference to saving to Drive, you can do it in just 2 steps and you have couple of options in the History screen. 1) Select share icon and email PDF report, here you will get multiple options on sharing your PDF report from messaging, email to Drive 2) The other option is to use the cloud and select Drive from here (easiest but make sure you select your data or else the export option doesn't show). Also, I would very much appreciate it if you can explain what is 2/ as I'm not able to understand the comment about forcing from the top. Could you please send me a message on support@evolvemedsys.com. We should be able to address all your other concerns in the next releases.
Type is super tiny!

I tried it, and then deleted it. The letters and numbers are minuscule and impossible for me to see without a magnifying glass. Looking at that big white screen full of blank space, I wonder why they didn’t use the space more intelligently. I am a senior citizen with new glasses last month, but I can’t comfortably read anything on the screen in this app without magnification or massive eyestrain. If the developers intended to make this app only for younger folks with 20/20 vision, fine,…but don’t write off all of the seniors and people with vision challenges who suffer with blood pressure and/or heart rate issues. I’m going back to my iPad Notes app where I can set the text size to a comfortable level, and simply input the readings on the keyboard. I use symbols to allow my doctor to quickly see where the HR was too low (🤍), the systolic or systolic was too low. or both were too low (🔻🔻). I have different symbols for hypertension, and this method has worked well for me. If you upgrade to a variable typeface, I may try again, as the graphing ability is a convenient feature. Even that was so small and faint , so I struggled to see it. Perhaps the developer should hire a vision challenged programmer to point out the sad inadequacies in this app and help to solve them.

Update Apr 13th: Good news. We have made the fonts bigger. Hope this works for you. Please let us know if you have any questions. You should be able to upgrade to version 8.2.1 anytime now on the App Store. Also, would appreciate a response or acknowledgement on email as requested earlier. Update Apr 11th: We have an update planned this week that will increase the font size and hope you will be satisfied with the outcome. Also, as requested earlier, please email us directly as it is hard to troubleshoot here.Update Apr 3, 2023:Can you send us a screenshot of what specific areas are you having difficulty with and we would be more than happy to fix it for you. Our email - support@evolvemedsys.comAlso, were you able to resolve the issue of limit classification selection based on your previous message? If you are genuinely interested in resolving these issues, please directly email us and we will get them fixed. It’s very hard for us to narrow down your concerns here. The US default limit classification is according the 2017 AHA/ACC guidelines. But the good news is that we also have a custom limit classification that includes a “low” category. You can set this in the “limit classification” within the more section of the app. Make sure to consult your doctor to review the current 2017 ACC/AHA classification before changing to the custom. If you need help finding it or more info on the guidelines, please let us know - support@evolvemedsys.com
In our latest update, we’ve added the ability to copy your data for analysis. We also fixed an issue in the Watch app where weight was being double-counted, restored the missing back button on the cloud signup screen, and resolved several UI issues affecting the onboarding screen and smaller devices such as the iPhone mini.
