Was happy. Now annoyed.

I used this app for many years when I had only my personal accounts. It worked great. We recently got married so now we have joint accounts. The problem is that WPCU only gives you one user name per account. This becomes an issue when I try to log in and it will send the two factor authentication text to my wife’s phone since it’s “her” user name. If you individual accounts and joint accounts each user should be able to log in independently and see accounts they are joint in and accounts they are separate on. At the very best this current system is inconvenient, at worst it is a giant security risk because it forces people to share log in information.

A business ownerrrr
Too many updates to company policy or software changes to banking or cards that interact with using the app & cause issues. The business checking and new debit card fiasco this year really hurt productivity, 100% due to business banking with WPCU and policy that interfered with logins on the app and computers. You figured it out after a few weeks, we lost a lot of time. This is similar to decisions with your robo call system which locked us out for 3 days from accessing our cards. Everyone in the bank was helpful but they didn’t have answers, it went to the top.It seems there are policy changes or new adventures or updates WPCU embarks on and repairs things as they go, rather than testing things “offline” (however that needs to happen) to be certain new moves will not always result in crashes. It’s been common in the last 6-18 months from logins to deposits to cards…the business side is a mess for buisness owners. I hope the professionalism and preparedness improves because WPCU isn’t feeling like a solid option anymore, it feels like 2nd class banking…and whoever decided to consolidate business services to so few people that you cannot go into a branch to get help, or need to work around personal schedules…that’s backwards from where we started with you in 2012.

Manipulating my credit score.

'Disillusioned'
My understanding is that financial institutions can also influence credit scores. I have an outstanding debt that was sent to a collection agency a few years ago. I have refused to pay it, and they have not pursued it, because we both know it was a result of an unethical and manipulative act on the part of the creditor. I have never heard back from the debt collector. Several months ago this ‘blemish’ was not affecting the improvement of my credit score. My practice has always been to pay my balance within 24 hours of a transaction. I am using my CC specifically for the purpose of improving my score in case I ever need credit. I otherwise would just continue to use my debit card exclusively. Now, someone? (WPCU or the credit score entities) is using this ‘entry’ on my report as an excuse to lower my score back down to ‘poor’ despite my efforts to pay my balance always within 24 hours. I don’t know whether it is WPCU who has chosen to alter their perceptions of my ‘credit worthiness’ or it is one or more of the credit score entities, but I will eventually test the waters by moving on to a different bank or credit union.

Widget Removal

I love this app, but have been really disappointed that the widget feature is not available since updating to iOS 18. Having easy access to my balance from my home screen was one of my favorite features! Now I have to actually open the app to access balance info. There is the quick balance option in the app so I don’t have to login but it’s still not nearly as convenient as the home screen widget was. I’m also not a huge fan of the new app design that changed the view of the my accounts screen. Having my available balance in the green font was very convenient for a quick view when logging in and that has been stripped away as well. For someone with multiple accounts on one screen there is no pronounced separation anymore so it’s not as visually appealing. Overall the functionality of the app is great but a lot of the changes seem to make things harder and like a move backwards instead of forward.
