Yaay! It’s been totally updated - it’s fabulous!
Pastor was my go-to for passwords and sensitive data for many years on my MBP. Markus added an iOS version, which was handy, but you could still only enter or edit on the Mac. When he stopped supporting the desktop version I was very disappointed.
But recently I discovered he was reworking and updating it for iOS, and I was lucky enough to be a Beta Tester.
It’s now out of Beta, and it is fabulous!! Better than it ever was before.
You can add new items, edit and revise current items, and do everything you need to do, without a bunch of features you don’t need.
I have zero complaints, which is unusual for me (smile). Pastor for iOS is 100% awesome, and I highly recommend it.
Thank you, Markus.
Really Great App
I’ve been using the desktop version for years now! It’s been my go-to app for holding my passwords, as it’s easy, convenient and simple to use. I was pretty surprised to see the mobile app, so I decided to give it a try and it’s been great so far!
Like the desktop app, it’s super simple to use. I do agree with JTdesign that the security on the app is none. You can open it just like Safari or iMessage…no password needed, which is a little counterintuitive. Since I downloaded the mobile app, I changed the password on my iPhone lock to 18 characters, so no one should be able to get into my phone and access these passwords.
Improvements - make it wireless. Every time you make a change or add a password on the desktop app, you have to plug in your phone and sync it with the mobile version in order to update it. I would also recommend being able to use the mobile version to add passwords. Right now, you can only add passwords on the desktop version, not the mobile version.
I still love the app, but there are a few improvements that should be made. Still worth my $1.99.
Unusable until there is security
Pastor for Mac is great. One of the things I like the best is how secure I feel using it to protect, well, everything. I was skeptical when the instructions told me to export my data as clear text to begin with, but I assumed that once it was on the phone every precaution had been taken to secure what is ultimately the most important information I have. Nothing. There is literally nothing besides my pocket. Even Groupon has a 4 digit sign in, which ironically I could find out what the four digits were by opening this unsecured app easier than I can use the groupon app itself. I uninstalled it immediately. This information is simply too important to leave unattended. Please add some security, and honestly I would hope it be strong security at that. I have faith in the developer and will be glad when the app is usable.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
