I first searched on the internet as to where I can charge my vehicle. I am a first time electric vehicle owner so this is all new to me. When I discovered ChargeHub it was amazing because all I did was put in an address and searched for stations that were nearby to where I would be for that day. I set up an account and was able to add my own dollar amount to charge from, I encounter only one issue with this app and it’s finding “true stations” which are part of their program so I can use the funds in my account but other than that it’s a great app. I would recommend it to everyone.

I tired the app they want 30$ right off the rip as a hold charge. Next I tried to load 15$ 3-5 times and every time it said it didn’t go through but I was charged anyway. My bank flagged it immediately as a possible scam from OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES. Then I actually tried 3 different chargers at a brand new location at 4-‘ so I could get home to my family. Subsequently it did not work and came up with multiple error codes. This never happens at a Tesla site. Now my vehicle needs to be serviced at Tesla bc there are multiple errors codes and issues that were diagnosed and found right after I left the charging site. If there is something that this company did with their technology that broke or compromised my battery or any other hardware/software I will pursue compensation for the damages. I have an appointment with Tesla on September 10th for them to look into the matter. I would appreciate a chance to speak with someone whom has authority on this matter. Thank you for your attention on this matter.

We’re sorry to hear about your frustrating experience. To clarify, ChargeHub is a Canadian company, and our address is publicly displayed on our website. We also have a large U.S. customer base that uses our service successfully.The minimum ChargeHub account balance required to start a session is $10, not $30. ChargeHub does not place $30 holds on funds. If you saw a $30 authorization or additional charge, it may have come from the charging network or your bank as a temporary authorization. We recommend contacting your bank for details.We’d also like to investigate the charging errors you experienced. Please contact us at [support@chargehub.com]with the station details, error messages, and transaction information so our team can look into this further.

This app is fine as a map to find charging stations. However, there are plenty of other apps with this feature. The major issues I had were that I couldn’t add funds to my account and once I finally did I could never start a charging session. It took my several tries to add fund to my account, I had to set up a new account without using Apple to login to finally get it to work. Then, I couldn’t activate charging sessions through ChargePoint, which is the only provider I have been able to find in my area this far. The one time I got a session to start through ChargePoint it stopped charging immediately (after waiting almost a full minute for the session to start). Ended up requesting a refund as you have to pre-load money on your card. Would recommend using first party apps at your charging station.

The problem you experienced with ChargePoint is concerning though. Essential EV charging app

I don’t write reviews but it is a bit ridiculous how PlugShare is the recommended number one app everywhere you look online. I was surprised to read recommendations for PlugShare over and over and I’ve been playing around to see what the hype is about. It’s ok. But just inaccurate and incomplete compared to this app. This is the best I’ve found and it really is perfect thus far. I can’t help but feel I’m missing something with PlugShare, but regardless, this is the one to download.
