Social stories are an important type of visual support often used with children diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome or other special need. This social stories found in this app use simple text and descriptive pictures to explain the why and how of different social skills.

Many children, especially those diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder, Down syndrome and other special need, often fail to pick up on social cues, making learning a social skill especially difficult. Social stories may increase awareness and maintenance of social skills.
Social stories were first defined by Carol Gray in 1991 and are commonly used to break down a task or social situation into small and easy to understand steps, often accompanied by descriptive pictures. Social stories are incredibly easy to implement and are used by many professionals for a wide range of behaviors.

The Social Story App is easy to use to create custom social stories. The structure is clear. Adding photos from the iPad allows teachers to personalize the specific story. It would be great if we could print custom stories or send them as a file to another teacher. I also wish they filled the screen when played. But this app has encouraged me to write multiple stories and it is definitely user friendly! The library of written stories is very helpful. There is a good selection of familiar needs. Thank you!

Okay so I like this app, but once you make two stories, you can’t make anymore. You have to pay money to to create more stories. And it isn’t that fun so yeah. All you do is create a story and then read other books that are like for kindergarten. I do like how you can add a picture to your book, but that’s not really it. I just want to create more stories then that would be a little more fun so please fix this. Or else it’s just going to be boring for everyone. And no one will like this app unless you pay. FOR MONEY. Ugh it’s just so annoying and my mom doesn’t let me buy stuff that you have to pay on games only my own money and I’m just a kid so I’m not wasting my own money just for that. It’s ridiculous. So that’s why I delete the app. Because it’s so boring

In the previous version, some stories with more than 10 pages would have issues with sharing.
• Cleaned up the PDF sharing and printing functionality and added more sharing options.
The share and print PDF buttons have been combined into one, the new button opens a preview of the PDF, from the preview screen you have the option to print or share using one of many options such as email, airdrop, etc.

Fixed bug with iOS 8 where images weren't showing up. No images were lost, updating to this version will make the images reappear. Thanks to everyone who emailed us with this issue.
