I’m really torn about this game. I love all the decorations, farm animals and pets. They are some of the best of any games that are out there. I’ve been playing for a year and 6 months now and up until the last few events, have really enjoyed it. I love to do the events of any game, I love the challenge. And I have enjoyed most of the ones that this game has provided. But I have started seeing a trend over the last few months that I feel is very concerning. In order to complete events to win the prize or prizes, you have to spend money (and sometimes a lot of it). They have been having one event after another, most of which last 10-12 days. You progress along just fine in the earlier days as long as you are diligent and work hard. Then, you get to the last few days and it is almost impossible to progress. Again, without spending real money, you cannot succeed...well, unless you are lucky. They call these “luck” events. What a pile of horse crap. They have a forum where you can voice complaints, but obviously Storm8 does not look at these forums or if they do, they don’t care what their customers think. I’m willing to spend money on a game, since someone has put in a lot of effort to create something that is fun. I spend money on expanding my farm, buying animals, upgrading my barn or silo, decorations, etc. Good for them that they should be paid and I’m all willing to do that. But to create an event and pull the rug out from under the players in the last couple of days is very mean. I haven’t decided if I’m going to even continue this farm or just say bye bye.

People are complaining that it takes too long to acquire money, gems, leveling up.... if it wasn’t a challenge where would the fun be? Back in the day when you walked to school and it was uphill both ways (older generations will understand that pun) nothing was handed to you, you earned everything.... getting an allowance was unheard of.... you got a job, saved money to buy what you wanted- it wasn’t handed to you - maybe that’s why people don’t appreciate the patience this game takes. I had lost my game switching phones, emailed Storm8, heard back from them in a few days and had my game restored. Yes, a few times I accidentally bought something I didn’t want and also lost my gems hitting the wrong button, but I was hurrying and most likely my fault. I do admit it’s very hard to find items when you need them sometimes, but.... if you have patience and visit other farms more times than not you will find what you are looking for. My only complaint is that when you are trying to win a new pet in a county fair or what not, you do end up using a lot of what you have in storage, and finding what you need is really hard.... but it all comes down to patience. They give you plenty of time to acquire items you need for the train, balloon, and delivery truck. Bottom line, if you’re in a hurry and want to get to the top level fast, then this game is not for you.... imagine life without credit cards?! I don’t owe a penny because I save for what I want. The old school way.

I really don’t know why there are so many negative comments on here! Yes, there is an option to spend money to get things you really want/need, but WHAT GAME DOESN’T??!! I love Farm Story 2 because the graphics are fun, it’s easy to use, there’s always something to do, and it’s just plain relaxing and peaceful to me. The one complaint I do have, related to spending money, is when there are events. If I’m participating and it’s against other people who are also trying to accumulate points toward something, it should NOT be an option for them to BUY their victories! The last event was about spring clean up. We accumulated points in various ways and I was working my rear off, doing it fair and square. I only got 5th place out of the 20 total people in the contest. I got just over 9,000 points, but the top people obviously BOUGHT their victories. Cripes, the first place person had over 21,000 points! Like I said, I really worked hard at this, checking things throughout each day MANY times, even 3:00 in the morning when I got up to go to the bathroom! But I was more than doubled up on points??!! Yes, the creators should be entitled to make money on this great game, but let the people buy rewards AFTER the events are done, if they didn’t win and really wanted something, not DURING, screwing people over along the way. That’s my ONLY complaint. Otherwise, I love this game and will keep playing for a loooong time!

To me, Farm Story is one of the very few games I play when time is available because it is enjoyable, the graphics are good and the animation is entertaining. I like how the game structured and there are very few ads. I have this game installed on two different devices using two different accounts - one I play with zero investment and one I periodically play buying gems and coins. The main difference? Pace of the game. If you pay, you can advance very quickly. If you don’t, you can still advance and enjoy the game, but the pace is much slower. The fact that you can still advance and play the game without any investment other than time and patience is a solid bonus when you are already pinched financially and spending on a game is a low priority. Also, I don’t have to watch a cluster of ads to get gems because as I progress in the game, I can earn them for free for accomplishments (again, slowly but still free). I like that you can connect with others, visit their farms, give them gifts, and shop from their markets. I also like that you can personalize your farm just how you like it by moving things wherever you want instead of having to leave them where the game wants them to be. In the end, the developers want to make money - that’s the point, right? - but they still make it possible to play the game without spending your money (just your time) and that’s pretty cool. I have tried this with other games and eventually I level out to a point where investment is necessary to advance, but not with Farm Story. If you want a free way to enjoyably spend a little time whenever you have a chance and without spending hard-earned cash, this is your game.
