I’ve played all Ironhide games except Legends of Kingdom Rush (no thank you not a TD) even played both Iron Marine games, got/bought all heroes and Towers and got them all maxed lvl and was excited to comes across their next installment Junkworld TD to see a “Mad Max” themed version, only to find out that it feels dumbed down. You only get 4 towers and now 4 “tactics” which feel like the reinforcement abilities from the older games. It has a KR Vengeance feel with the towers as they don’t branch off like from 1-3 which is fine, but now have these “active” abilities that you must click on to activate them. The heroes so far feel meh and at times I forget they even exist, they don’t feel like the hero character but another minion/ally on the field. There’s only 3 waves per map and Xp is per map instead of kills like the other games. The active buffs are only per map instead of being bought and collected for later use. Towers can only be build between waves and upgrades now take “fuel” which is limited per wave. I’ve seen other reviews calling it a “Lite” and I completely agree. I love your games and I’ll definitely push this one to the end to see if it changes, but so far it just feels like you just needed to get another product out there or trying something different. Sometimes it’s best to just not fix what isn’t broken. I’d would have rather spent 6-10 dollars on a new KR Junkworld installment rather than this Lite version off the arcade. I’m giving 5* because it’s IronHide games, but it really deserves a 4. Thank you for all your hard work and will continue to be a big follower.

First of all let me say I am an OG Kingdom Rush players and loved every single KR game. This Junkyard game is a long time coming because I could not stand your foray into other genres, just couldn’t deal with them. However Junkyard is again tower defense goodness I have come to know and love from you guys. With that said, this game feels a little on the easy side for strategy. Towers cannot be built during level phase. What is up with only 3 rounds per level?? I hope that opens up more as I play more levels. Also boosters are garbage because they can only be used once on the level you buy them for and not saved for when you need it. I liked previous upgrades for towers instead of this current version of having to pick upgrades based on the point system during a level. I miss a lot of things from KR but could not give less than 5 stars because this is still tower defense goodness I come to expect from your team. Thanks,

Let me first say this is the most fun ive had with a mobile game since the last installment. Its just as addictive while being rewarding and balanced at the same time, and no in app purchases on the arcade makes it a much better experience overall. Ever since I got to the final map of the game though, I genuinely cannot get through a single match without the game crashing. I was going through old maps to get all the stars and on some maps I had to give up because certain levels will crash every-time without fail. The level im on currently is one of these levels, so I literally cannot progress in the game. There are also many other bugs. Often times the game will glitch and i will no longer be able to use tactics for the rest of the game (buttons unresponsive). Sometimes this happens for towers as well in the build stage. When youve finally figured out the perfect strategy for an extra hard level just for this glitch to happen on the last stage or god forbid the game crashes, its a huge bummer. I dont think ive ever left a game review before because who even cares but I love Ironhide games so much bc of the nostalgia they give me and the easter eggs to my favorite sci fi and fantasy stories. Please fix so i can go back to wasting my time on this lovely game.

I’m a HUGE KINGDOM rush fan. I’ve been for almost a decade. Junkworld is a departure from the other games in that it requires much more strategy. The level of difficulty imo is rather inconsistent, some will be rather easy and the next will extremely difficult then the one after super easy, which can be a bit jarring. I like that it keeps you on your toes. However, as the April 2024 review says, there are instances where the Tactics are no longer usable in the sense that touch no longer works. So they’re there on your screen, but you can’t use them. The final straw for me that made me delete the game from my phone was when it occurred during a boss battle. It was quite sadistic to see the boss trampling everything and you just watch because the Tactics row is there, but you can’t use it. It’s been 7 months since that last review and it still hasn’t been fixed so obviously the developers don’t care too much about the issue. Just a heads up to future gamers, the fact that Tactics is disabled will make your progress much much more difficult. Sadly, for me, that does not justify playing this game any longer.
