This was a major misstep. What are you guys even doing? You really removed the functionality of the old app and made it so people have to use the app and if their camera isn’t supported, they can’t go back to the old app?? That was your decision? You had to get six more bucks a month for no improvement and functionality? Needed those extra shekels, huh? Mandatory growth every quarter has you screwing over your customers in the name of that sweet sweet subscription services model. Mark my words whoever’s reading this from Canon. This will not go well for you. People are on here talking about switching brands because of this and I thought they were mental until I downloaded the app. Now me, a CPS card carrying, 15 camera and countless lens purchasing, lifelong Canon customer is actively doing research on other brands. You can hate your customers all you want and make their experience as bad as you me too, but you can’t do that and expect them not to walk. You gotta pick one.
“Professional Use” for occasional personal use?
AlliC2024
I could see the benefit of a so-called professional app for people who engage in a lot of photography and videography as a hobby or job but for an individual who occasionally takes a video of a kid’s event, having to pay for a subscription is an obnoxious money-grab on Canon’s part. You should rethink how to build and maintain customer loyalty. Maybe you don’t actually want family camera users and want to move your customer base to professionals, in which case, best of luck to you. I’ll go back to using my iPhone to capture family memories!
Camera not supported
DRUSAU
Very displeased to have invested thousands of dollars into canon products and no longer able to transfer files from camera to smart phone. My camera is not supported and the original app that I once used isn’t supported. This is enough to leave this brand and go with a competitor. This app only works with a subscription as well. Complete failure to once loyal customer.
Not worth the time or money
Coconnell96
What a shame I use to love being able to use my camera and get the good quality pictures to my phone. Now that the app changed it no longer supports my camera and it is so confusing to use. I wish I read more of the reviews before wasting my time.
