Overall, the app and probes work great and do what they are supposed to. Easy to connect and provide accurate temperatures. Suggestions:-Needs a button in the app to start/stop a cook. The app either picks up from my last cook or starts as soon as I take them out of their box. Priority #1-For some reason for longer cooks like a roast that takes 4+ hours, the app tracking will reset the time and historical data. -For me, the predictive end time either doesn't show up or is inaccurate. For my 8lb roast that is currently sitting at 100 degrees on low in my crock pot for the last 3 hours, the app estimates 30 minutes remaining... But it definitely has a few hours to go. If they can get some updates in, could definitely be a 5* app/product.

Probe and amplifier box seem to work fine - it provides a temp and can connect to the phone. The software/app is very poor compared to others I’ve used (ie Meater). Biggest issue is that the estimated cooking time never shows. If it does, it takes 30+ minutes to show, then huge swings with the slightest change in ambient temp. Accuracy seems to be dubious. Algorithm seems very wrong and not helpful for any cook under 30 minutes - it needs major rework. Also, there is no duration of cook timer. Why not?? This can be intuited from the graph, but the UI of the graph is not good. Then, the alarms are not easily managed and take quite a bit of troubleshooting/work to prevent it going off every couple of minutes. Lastly, I can’t get a widget for the lock screen and need to leave the phone on and open for it to continue being helpful. The “pro” app needs professional help.

Like many others here, I cannot get this piece of junk to join any of my WiFi networks. An IoT device failing to connect to a working 2.4Ghz WLAN is utterly contemptible. I have gone through many of these wireless BBQ thermometers over the years and never had any issue joining these IoT devices. I would be less furious if I could at least use the Bluetooth connection to facilitate its functionality, but the setup routine in the device insists on just using a successful Bluetooth connection to join your WiFi where I suspect a hardware bug is the root of the problem. I opened a support ticket detailing the device failure, the already done troubleshooting steps (delete/reinstall app, hard reset, rejoin BT, reboot router, blah blah), and my disgust for how this failed to work out of the box. It’s been 5 business days and not A SINGLE RESPONSE FROM SUPPORT! Absolutely unacceptable and unforgivable!!

I thought they had released this app before it was ready to meet some deadline. But it’s been out for a year and still doesn’t work well. The record button doesn’t work and it drops connectivity without a notification. It’s the start of a decent app, but they need to spend some time working the bugs out.I’m very surprised Thermopro would let something like this have their name on it. They used to value quality. I hope this app isn’t the beginning of them not caring anymore.
