I’ve been a Lingoda student for over a year now, and although I like the model here are some possible improvements:- The Lingoda app should be able to connect to your calendar and add your classes in your calendar directly- You can’t join classes from the app, or open the zoom app from it which I think unfortunate Other than that the other feature are pretty great, especially the Lingobites exercises.

Scream Goat
I signed up for the 12 lesson package and signed up for a class. I couldn’t get into the class and the only way to get help is the chatbot. I asked if I could use my iPad to take the classes and was told yes. But it doesn’t work. Then I was told I need to use safari not the app. At this point my class had already started, I switched to safari and when I tried to log into my account I just kept getting a 404 error message. I asked to speak to a real human for help and was told they only have the chat bot or email. I then missed the entire class waiting for a response. I wrote several email and they were of no help at all. I have emailed for a refund and am still waiting for a response. Terrible app. If you can’t take the class on the app what is the point of having an app????

We completely understand how disappointing this can be.To clarify, it is possible to attend classes from an iPad, but this must be done through a browser (we recommend Google Chrome) by accessing our web platform. At the moment, the mobile app is designed as a complement to the web platform: it allows students to practice on the go, complete additional exercises, and manage bookings without needing a desktop computer, but joining live classes is not yet supported directly within the app. We’re sorry this was not clearly communicated earlier.We also apologize for the login issue and the 404 error you encountered when switching to Safari. This may have occurred because the lesson had already ended, but we understand how this contributed to you missing the class despite your efforts to join on time.Regarding support, while the chatbot provides quick guidance, our human Support Team is always available via email and web chat. We aim to respond within 24 hours and do our best to assist every student as quickly as possible. Since you were unable to attend the class due to this situation, our Support Team may be able to exceptionally refund the class credit as a goodwill gesture so you can reschedule it. Please contact us at service@lingoda.com or via the web chat, and we will be happy to review your case and help you continue your learning without losing that lesson.Your feedback is very important to us and helps us improve both the app experience and the clarity of our instructions for joining classes on different devices.

Difficult to book classes/horrible cancellation policy

I wanted to like Lingoda but I can never book a class in my level when it’s convenient for me and if you don’t cancel more than 72 hours ahead of time you lose your credit leading to many people not cancelling and classes showing as not available when often only 1 or 2 people attend. So you purchase X number of classes per month and you may not be able to book half of them, thus losing half of your paid classes. I understand that they need to cover the cost of the teacher but they also need a better cancellation policy so that classes are available for those who booked.

This usually allows students to secure spots across most times of the day. Please also note that classes take place even if only one student attends, so if others do not show up, the attending student benefits from a private lesson at no extra cost.Regarding cancellations, it is worth mentioning that when a class is booked, a teacher is assigned and prepares specifically for that session, which helps provide a better learning experience. For this reason, credits can be refunded if a class is canceled at least 72 hours in advance or within 30 minutes after booking (immediate cancellation). This last option is especially helpful to quickly correct any booking mistakes.If you’re still having trouble finding convenient classes, please reach out to our Student Support Team at service@lingoda.com. I’m really happy with my Lingoda experience. To learn a new language is to make yourself quite vulnerable, but all of Lingoda’s teachers have been incredible. The material is engaging and very well-written. I do recommend reviewing all unknown vocabulary and the PDF lessons to prepare for each lesson. You will feel more successful and get more out of the lesson if you are prepared. I cannot say enough about how helpful the teachers have been.
