Endometriosis is a chronic, inflammatory condition that affects 1 in 10 women of reproductive age and is a leading cause of pelvic pain and infertility. Despite its prevalence, diagnosis is often delayed by years and typically requires invasive procedures.
The WashU Medicine BRAVE study aims to change that. We are developing a user-friendly mobile app that integrates patient self-reports, behavioral data, and use this to identify blood biomarkers. Using machine learning, we will analyze this information in real time to identify patterns of pain and its underlying causes.
Our goal is to improve early detection and eventually enable personalized treatment—giving patients answers faster and care that fits their unique experience.
