2.5.1 Apr 1
What's New in 2.5
WBOPS Mountain Operations Push Alerts (optional) – Peak Cams can notify you about Whistler Blackcomb mountain operations content (lifts, gondolas, parking, related notices) via remote notifications. Everything is opt-in under Settings → NOTIFICATIONS. On first install and after each app update, onboarding covers widgets first, then push, using a consistent full-screen style.
Webcams detailed page is now expanded to show hourly images from earlier in the day. Link added to view the live video feed from the camera. For iPad, added 3-column view and 2-column view.
Home tab - Updated snow report timestamps to show how long ago the report was issued. Renamed feeds to Whistler Snow Report and Epic Snow Report. The Whistler Snow Report is based on the TOM - Today on the Mountains report managed by the Communications team. The Epic Snow Report is the Vail Resorts API feed, which is used on the main WB website.
Temperatures tab - New setting to show Stations with high winds (below the bubble chart): 30–75 km/h, default 40 km/h. You can adjust to your preference in Settings → TEMPERATURES TAB. Imperial mode shows mph on the slider ends and current value; API comparison remains in km/h.
Settings – Cleaner design with icons; new and reorganized options across Home, Webcams, Forecasts, and Temperatures Tab (high-wind threshold for the Temps tab).
Navigation – Improved navigation menu layout with scrolling for accessibility on all device sizes.
Forecasts – Added option to change the RWDI Freezing level chart to a line chart or bar chart in the Settings. Layout improvements across Mid-Mountain, Alpine, and Summit; improved refresh behavior; forecast-related timestamps in Settings. Improved precipitation and freezing level guages.
