Your timing is off way off. He told me to leave at 9:59 AM to catch this bus. This bus has been passed me by two minutes but it just gave me notification that my bus is arriving. I don’t know what is wrong with this app but when it comes to the red line, the 80 and 12 is not up, not to mention, it tells me to get off in 39 I’m not going to the end of the line, please figure this out I ain’t got time for this unload and reload a different app and remind you from where I live on 14th St. and it is exactly a nine minute walk to the bus stop not a four minute walk. Not a five minute walk. You guys have got to figure this out because because you’re causing an inconvenience. And the route 80 I’m about to get on it not even instead of part of the list. It’s 10:17 PM. Today’s date is June 29 It is 11:02 PM. The bus supposedly came by four minutes ago. It must be a ghost you can’t see this book because real time says this bus comes in two minutes but on the Umo app it says the bus comes in 14 minutes. You guys are off again with the red lot yeah I don’t have people out here on a bus stop waiting for minutes in hours that they don’t have to because they only way to work, and if it was accurate, they would know that the bus comes at a certain time not at a ghost bus time

I used to use this for college and getting around the county because I don’t have a license and it’s difficult for me to get one. It’s worked very well for two years, then sometime in early 2024, it became useless. It used to be that I could look anywhere in the county and tap on a bus stop, then see what routes go there and when they’ll arrive. There were small time discrepancies, but that’s fine. Then the app got a dramatic redesign. Now I have to manually search for my destination. I can’t even tap on a stop anymore; it jumps to that stop in a list on the bottom of the screen, and it can’t even do that right! It might show you the stop on the other side of the street, even if you zoom in on the stop. The final straw (what led me to deleting the app from my phone) was when the app said there were “no stops detected nearby.” I live within a five minute walk from two bus stops. The GPS worked, but the stops weren’t available on the app. Do yourself a favor, delete the app and don’t bother with Umo. Get a physical bus pass and load that up instead. This is genuinely less useful than just standing at a bus stop and waiting for hours.

The old in-house MCTS app wasn’t amazing, but it worked. Umo lacks significant basic functionality (i.e. day passes, group tickets for people with children, Apple Pay support, etc.). The interface is confusing and mediocre at best while the data presented is also of questionable accuracy.

Update 21 May 2024: the new version is even less intuitive and useful than the old Umo I wrote about above. I’ve noticed if you click a stop on the map it does not necessarily bring that stop up (even though it enlarges the point for said stop), but instead just grabs a list of nearby stops by GPS proximity regardless of it’s actually what you wanted - this has led to me selecting the wrong stop to view timetables.

At this point I would advise users to use Transit App as the gold standard for transit trip planning, with Apple Maps, or Google Maps being usable as well. If your transit agency selects Umo at this juncture I from the perspective of a transit user would highly question their decision making skills and even competency to deliver transit services in a quality manner.

Thank you for the feedback. Each transit agency decides what products they want to sell via Umo. More functionalities including the ability to purchase multiple passes will be available once the full system goes live for MCTS.
