The new Virgin Atlantic app is great, the UI is modern and clean and easy to navigate. However, I wish more functions were built into the app directly rather than directing users to an in-app browser to the Virgin website. I think you should be able to search, book and change flights within the app itself otherwise it’s somewhat pointless to have the app besides checking in or having your mobile boarding pass.

This new version of the app is an indication of how Virgin Atlantic appear to have lost their way. Not an upgrade to the existing app, but you need to replace one with the other - why….every other company seems to be able to upgrade in place. Same with our booking - both departure time and return changed several times - Virgin only bothered to tell us once. Had to change our rental car arrangements both times - no apology, just here’s your new times and better hope you’re looking at our horrible new app to tell you we’ve changed your flights again, because we can’t be bothered to send you another email.Been a long time since we flew Virgin - this was a reintroduction - likely to be the last time with this level of amateurish customer service.

For most parts, the all works great. It will notify you about your return flight even before you leave but it works. I just didn’t like that there’s no option to upload passport info without having the passport on hand until it’s time to check in for the flight then it gives you that option
Don’t delete your old app

I wish I read other reviews to not delete old app before I “upgraded”. This new app is completely unusable. There is no possibility that it was properly user tested before releasing. Why would Virgin be pushing on old app to upgrade to this new app when it is clearly not ready for public use. So frustrated. Ended up having to go to the website to get my ticket info for a flight and then screenshot it so I have something to show to go through security! (Other option … I will have to go to check in desk when I’m only traveling with carry on and have them print out my ticket like it is 2010).
