Highly recommend! Few bugs but totally worth it!

As for most people who downloaded this app, I’ve also been on a search for a way to block short form content. Unfortunately, the only way was to either practice abstinence or completely delete all of the apps. But this app is geniunely fantastic! Considering it’s just the 1st version, and factoring in how quickly these guys even released the app, some bugs are excusable. The software can be a little slow, and for me (iPhone16) the DMs don’t seem to work— after opening someone’s chat, it never loads in for me to actually send any kind of message. It also doesn’t permit me to message anyone new (prior to downloading SocialLite. I have to first go on my regular Instagram app, message someone there, so a new chat gets created for them, and then hop back over. But still can’t send any DMs through SL).And this app is FREE (with premium options, but it’s literally only 3.99 a month and not required for a great experience) which is such a rare word to see nowadays. Totally worth the download.

I’ve been trying to manage my relationship with social media for a while now, deleting both Tik Tok and snap chat. I kept instagram, deleting it off my phone when I wasn’t posting. This worked to an extent, but I’d always get hooked on reels when I redownloaded it. This app is perfect for people like me, and allows you to post and enjoy your friend’s stories, posts, and messages without giving you the opportunity to scroll reels. It’s slower than the instagram app itself, but honestly that will just help keep you off the platform and hasn’t at all been detrimental to my experience with socialite.Grateful this app exists!

What started as a means of staying digitally connected with friends has been twisted into an engagement-maxing medium that monetizes our attention. Reels and short form videos have taken the internet by storm, and this app offers a rare defense against it all. It’s not perfect, but it’s the strongest (free) alternative I’ve seen yet. I personally have IG and Snapchat connected. It’s had a noticeable impact on my digital behavior, reducing my screentime while maintaining the lines of communication I’ve built on these platforms. I love this so much. Great job devs!

Really great idea, but it honestly feels more like a prototype than a final product. As a computer engineer, I understand that something like this is likely not super easy to make. The usage of the online version of ig is gonna inherently make the experience worse, and the extra parsing and handling to remove any reel related features is probably rough. The experience definitely works for its purpose, but the UI is so buggy that it just makes me wanna not use it at all.This app works great for me to still have the ability to stay up to date with stuff, but as an actual experience its a little annoying. I am rooting for your guys though! I really hope you can polish it in the near future.
