Pitch 31 is a faithful recreation of the 31-point Partnership Pitch variant my family has played for decades. It was built with love, care, and a specific purpose: to bring the joy of a Friday night card game to anyone, anywhere.
A NOTE FROM THE DEVELOPER
I built this game for my grandmother. At 88 years old, she still loves Pitch, but after my grandfather passed, our regular foursome was gone. Losing the ability to shuffle cards or hold a hand due to age made it even harder for her to play the game that brought her so much joy.
She didn't want flashy animations, confusing gems, or loud ads. She just wanted to play cards.
I created this app so she could play her favorite game—with the real family rules—whenever she wanted, on her own terms. Now, I'm sharing it with you.
THE AUTHENTIC EXPERIENCE
If you grew up playing Pitch (or Setback/High-Low-Jack), you know there are many ways to play. This is the "Cadillac" version—the 31-Point Partnership game involving deep strategy and skill.
The Deck: We play with 54 cards (Standard 52 + High & Low Jokers).
The Points: We play for 10 points per hand. The 3 of Trump is the most valuable card (3 points!), and the 2 of Trump always returns to the holder.
The Widow: We use a specialized "Widow" draw/discard phase. It's not just about the cards you're dealt; it's about how you build your hand.
