NYC Intel now makes it clearer what’s happening near your saved block and asks for alert permission after My Block is ready. Parking Enforcement Intel now maps the latest 30 days of issued-ticket totals to nearby street blocks and adds clear borough comparison context. Smarter personalized trial reminders highlight meaningful nearby updates, while referral tools remain in My Block, Settings, and the paywall.

And the map's new Sanitation layer shows where to drop off electronics, food scraps, old medications, and special waste — plus exactly what counts as "special waste."

We rebuilt how each building's health rating works. It's now sized to the building — a couple of open violations in a 160-unit tower no longer reads as bad as the same count in a two-family home — and it ignores decades-old records that were never formally closed, so the rating reflects what's genuinely open today. Serious, immediately-hazardous conditions always surface.
