WEEKLY LEAGUES FOR EVERYONE Your first finished level or duel of the week places you in a league of up to 25 players whose last week looked like yours. The leaderboard now opens on This week, where everyone starts on Monday at 0, with This month next to it. You can switch the automatic placement off in Profile. THE EAR INDEX A rating of how accurately you answer, not how much you play. Every level moves it a little, like a chess rating, and replaying easy levels cannot inflate it. You see it after each level, on Stats and on its own leaderboard. A MONTHLY LEADERBOARD WITH PRIZES At the end of each month the monthly leaderboard is final. The top three win 500, 300 and 150 EarCoins, the champion wins Encore, a gold-on-black Timbre that is never for sale, and the titles Champion and Best ear show next to their names for the whole next month. DUELS THAT PAY A won duel pays 100 XP and 30 EarCoins, a tie 50 and 15, a lost one 25 and 5, for up to five duels a day. The Duels screen starts with what is waiting on you. CLEARER LEVELS Leaving a level asks first. Reveal Answer shows that it costs a life. On levels with a piano keyboard you pick a key and then tap Check, so a slip of the finger no longer costs a life. The result screen says whether your result was saved, a level passed without a connection still counts for your streak, and Play again is one tap away. NEW STRINGS The Strings instrument has new violin-section samples, from G3 up to E7. ALSO IN THIS VERSION New players reach their first question sooner, ledger lines are easy to see, notifications arrive in your language, answer buttons stay readable on a small phone, and a failed test-out offers Try Again.

SIGN IN WITH APPLE OR GOOGLE One tap signs you in or creates your account, with no password to invent and no link to wait for. If you already have an Earonman account with the same email, it opens with your progress and your subscription. Hide My Email works too. A FRIENDLIER FIRST MINUTE Beginners start with four quick questions before the first level: a happy or a sad chord, a melody going up or down, two notes close together or far apart. You can play right after signing up, before you confirm your email, and the sign-up form catches a typo in your address. GUIDO, REBUILT (PRO) Play the guide tones, the 3rd and the 7th of every chord, through a whole tune in four phases: Listen, Follow, By ear and In tempo. A band with saxophone, piano and bass plays swing or straight eighths, and each part has its own volume. Any key, charts for B-flat, E-flat and F instruments, a Repertoire of the progressions jazz players meet every day, and your own tunes from iReal Pro. THE NEXT LEVEL IN ONE TAP The screen after a passed level opens the next level straight away. ALSO IN THIS VERSION Interval exercises can be answered on plain buttons instead of the keyboard, a duel no longer shows the tab bar while you play, and a phone still signed in to a deleted account signs out.

A CLEARER FIRST STEP Home now leads with one next step: your next level, a Tune-up when one is due, or Free Practice once every level is done, and it opens the level straight away. New accounts get a short Getting started list, and beginners go from sign-up directly into their first level. HARMONIC QUEST, REBUILT Barry Harris's movement in four steps on one screen: Listen, Follow, By ear and In tempo. Play it in any of the twelve keys, hear the top voice, the inner voices or the bass on their own, and read the score as a tape that scrolls with you. The fourteen exercises are now a path in three chapters. MADE FOR IPAD AND TABLETS Buttons keep a comfortable width, the piano keyboard shows more octaves instead of stretching its keys, answer buttons grow with the screen, and Harmonic Quest works with the tablet held upright. MORE OF THE APP IN YOUR LANGUAGE Section names, Harmonic Quest exercises, duel themes and the lesson screen are translated, and the confirmation email arrives in the language you signed up in. Changing the language restarts the app so every screen follows. ALSO IN THIS VERSION A calmer screen after each level, piano pictures in lessons drawn in proportion, voicings written with the right sharps and flats, the level map opening at your next level, and many smaller fixes.

PLAY YOUR ANSWERS ON A MIDI KEYBOARD Connect a MIDI keyboard by USB and play your answers instead of tapping them. Bluetooth keyboards pair inside the app: iPhone does not list a Bluetooth MIDI keyboard in its own Bluetooth settings, so Guido, Harmonic Quest and Jazz Voicings open Apple's pairing window for you, and the keyboard turns up in the app on its own once it connects. SING IN SONG PRACTICE TOO Guido's song practice takes your voice, not just your taps. Both of its screens ask for a single note over a sustained chord, so both now offer the microphone and the live pitch reading. (Open Mic is a Pro feature.) A COURSE REVIEWED IN FIVE LANGUAGES Translating the lessons into four more languages meant reading every sentence closely enough to rewrite it, and the course is sharper for it. Explanations are more precise, and level names now use the same words as the answer buttons inside them, so a level never asks for one thing and calls it another. Every correction reached all five languages at once. ALSO IN THIS VERSION Practice plays the voicing family you actually picked, and the Functioneer playback list offers only voicings that can carry a whole progression. Review no longer asks about a chord with no answer button. Interval names read as names in every language, the singing prompts use them correctly, and the Timbres in the shop are described in your own language.

This release builds bridges: into four new languages, and across the steepest jumps in the course. IN YOUR LANGUAGE Earonman now speaks Czech, Spanish, Simplified Chinese and Japanese. The app follows your phone's language on its own, and Settings has a language picker visible to everyone, so switching - including back to English - is one tap, no restart. Note names stay international (C, D, E), the trainers keep their names, and musical terms read the way players in your language actually talk: a Czech learner answers with "Malá tercie", not "Minor Third". Spanish, Chinese and Japanese are marked Beta while their review continues. 251 LEVELS, WITH BRIDGES BETWEEN THEM The course grew from 217 to 251 levels, and most of the new ones are bridges across jumps that used to be walls. Inversions in Functioneer now arrive two steps at a time instead of all at once. Progressions get a runway: four chords, then six, then all seven. The Voicings section opens with its easiest family first and grew new families - Block Chords, So What inversions, Kenny Barron and Herbie Hancock m11 stacks, and gentler openers for Drop 3 and Drop 2 & 4. Early levels ask for fewer correct answers (8, 10 and 12 instead of 15 across the first thirty), and voicing questions are now generated fresh in all twelve keys. A FAIRER GAME A failed or abandoned run now counts. Quitting mid-run or running out of lives used to throw your answers away; now they land in your stats and your streak, every time. A streak day is five correct answers anywhere in the app, and your day ends at your midnight - day boundaries respect your timezone. The daily Tune-up review (short, no lives, free) is now on the phone and on the web. And in Open Mic, the first miss on a question is free, and the app waits for the note you settle on instead of grabbing the first one you hold. SOUND AND NOTATION Chord changes connect smoothly: the top voice now steps to the nearest note of the next chord instead of jumping around. Upper Structures no longer sound muddy. And generated voicings are spelled the way a musician reads them - D# in B7, not Eb. Guido's chord-chart studies now carry their own names too - Falling Leaves, Portrait of B. and friends - instead of borrowing famous titles. RECENTLY, IN CASE YOU MISSED IT 1.9.0 redrew the whole app from the ground up and added Timbres: twelve app-wide colour schemes bought with the EarCoins you earn by training. 1.8.0 brought Open Mic: answer by singing or playing instead of tapping, with your intonation graded live, note by note, entirely on your device.

v1.9.0 - Velvet The whole app has been redrawn, and for the first time you can recolour it yourself. A NEW LOOK, FROM THE GROUND UP Earonman now has its own typefaces instead of borrowing your phone's: a serif for screen titles, a monospace for every number and score, and a clean sans for reading, so the three do different jobs. The background is a deep velvet lit from the top, carrying a grain so fine you are more likely to feel it than see it. Text is a warm cream rather than a cold white. Cards are lit from their own corner in their own colour instead of sitting flat on the page. Popups, tutorials and every other overlay now blur the screen behind them instead of only dimming it, so the text on top stays readable. TIMBRES: TWELVE WAYS TO WEAR IT A timbre is the colour of a sound, which felt like the right name for something that recolours an ear training app. There are twelve, bought with the EarCoins you already earn by training: Pressing, Stillness, Signal, Oxblood, Phosphor, Tweed, Panel, Walnut, Gatefold, Daylight, Fluoro and Concrete. Each one is drawn from somewhere records were made and played, from mid-century sleeve design to valve amplifiers and oscilloscope screens. Two of them are light, if you have been wanting that. Put one on in Settings and the whole app follows: backgrounds, text, icons, the level map's nodes, your stats and the dashboard grid. PRACTICE IS EASIER TO FIND YOUR WAY AROUND The ten trainers are now grouped into five families - Distance, Stack, Key, Motion and Outside - instead of showing ten competing colours at once. Every setup screen was rebuilt underneath that: Start is the same button on every trainer, long option names are no longer cut off halfway, and anything you cannot pick right now is greyed out with a line telling you why instead of silently vanishing. Every practice type also has a new description saying what you hear and what you do. EVERYWHERE ELSE Chat lessons take the new look, with message bubbles lit in the speaker's own colour. Quest rows in Stats fill with light to match your accuracy, so you can read how you are doing across trainers at a glance. Settings, notifications, the exercise picker, the league, duels, daily goals and help all use the same lit surface now. RECENTLY, IN CASE YOU MISSED IT 1.8.0 brought Open Mic: answer by singing or playing instead of tapping, with your intonation graded live, note by note, entirely on your device. It works with voice, piano, saxophone and trumpet, accepts any octave, and speaks directional guidance to blind and low-vision users. 1.7.0 added animated level-complete celebrations and a leaderboard that shows your global rank and exactly how much XP you need to overtake the player above you.

Earonman listens through the microphone, shows how your pitch compares with the target note, and evaluates your intonation note by note. • Use your voice or instrument. Open Mic works with singing, piano, saxophone, trumpet, and other pitched instruments, one note at a time. • Sing in your own octave. A bass can answer a question written in a higher register, and Earonman always shows the octave it detected. • Available in Interval levels, Guido, and Practice Mode. Practice Mode includes four answer types: Tap, Sing Back, Produce, and Transpose. • Blind and low-vision users receive spoken directional guidance while holding an incorrect note. • All audio is analysed directly on your device. Nothing is recorded or uploaded.

No timer, no fixed number of questions - you pick up XP as you go (shown live in the header next to your running score) and tap Finish whenever you want your summary. • Compare your answer with the correct one. Miss an interval, chord or scale and the new Compare button plays your answer, then the right answer back to back - so you can train your ear on the exact difference. • Buy individual instruments with EarCoins. The shop now sells single instruments - harp, flute, clarinet, strings and more - each with its own full-color artwork. Pro still unlocks them all. • Vinyl record answer buttons are back. They resize to your screen and the number of options, curve their labels along the disc, and switch to compact chord symbols (Maj7, m7b5...) when a level has lots of choices. • Easier Harmonic / Arpeggio toggle in the chord trainers - now a compact, color-coded icon pinned to the right edge, out of the way of the answer discs. • Yearly Pro is now cheaper - €59.99 (about 28% less than paying monthly). BUG FIXES & IMPROVEMENTS • Guido and Harmonic Quest no longer crash in landscape on iOS. • The first sounds in a session no longer stutter - audio is warmed up at launch so the very first chord and success sound play cleanly. • Duels: the home-screen card shows your real won-lost-tied record again, and the result screen shows its score numbers instead of empty tiles. • Jazz Voicings: running out of lives now ends on Game Over (not a false Level Complete), and wrong notes turn red on the keyboard while correct ones stay green. • Functioneer: the play button stays visible in Progression mode, and chords no longer voice down in the mud. • Chord answer labels stay readable with clearer symbols (dim, Aug, m7b5), and the green "correct" reveal fires again on single-chord inversion levels. • Onboarding placement now saves reliably, and a duplicate "Listen" button was removed from several exercises.

Duels & Sharing • 1v1 Duels: challenge any other player to a head-to-head ear training match. Both get the same 10 questions in your chosen theme, fastest accurate player wins. Six themes - Intervals, Chords, Scales, Cadences, Chord Progressions, and Mixed. Customize any theme: pick exactly which items to test on, or leave it wide open. • Async play: the challengee has 7 days to accept, then both players have 48 hours to play. Push notifications on every step - challenge received, accepted, declined, completed - and a nudge when your opponent has played their half. Rematch in one tap. • Invite by link: create a share link to challenge anyone - even friends who don't have Earonman yet. One link can be accepted by several people, each starting its own duel. • Share your duel result to a story: turn a finished duel into an image made for Instagram Stories. Your challenge link is copied to the clipboard so you can paste it into the story. • Win-loss-tie record next to every player on the global leaderboard. Tap the sword icon to challenge them directly. • Mark levels for review: tap the star on any unlocked level to flag it for later. Starred levels appear in a "Marked for review" strip above the level map so you can jump straight to them. • Stuck? After three wrong answers in a row, a friendly prompt offers to drill that exact skill in Free Practice instead - infinite lives, no streak, no game over. The Game Over screen also has a "Try in Free Practice" button next to Retry. • Smarter weekly leagues matchmaking: when your tier is quiet, you are matched into a populated group across tiers instead of playing alone. • Cadence and progression playback polish: the tonic chord plays first as a key reference, then a pause, then the sequence - so the harmonic motion is easier to hear in context. • Mobile quest polish: Reveal Answer is now treated as a neutral "revealed" instead of a wrong guess. Polychordist and Hybrid Lab gained a Harmonic / Arpeggio playback toggle.
