v1.9.0 - Velvet The whole app has been redrawn, and for the first time you can recolour it yourself. A NEW LOOK, FROM THE GROUND UP Earonman now has its own typefaces instead of borrowing your phone's: a serif for screen titles, a monospace for every number and score, and a clean sans for reading, so the three do different jobs. The background is a deep velvet lit from the top, carrying a grain so fine you are more likely to feel it than see it. Text is a warm cream rather than a cold white. Cards are lit from their own corner in their own colour instead of sitting flat on the page. Popups, tutorials and every other overlay now blur the screen behind them instead of only dimming it, so the text on top stays readable. TIMBRES: TWELVE WAYS TO WEAR IT A timbre is the colour of a sound, which felt like the right name for something that recolours an ear training app. There are twelve, bought with the EarCoins you already earn by training: Pressing, Stillness, Signal, Oxblood, Phosphor, Tweed, Panel, Walnut, Gatefold, Daylight, Fluoro and Concrete. Each one is drawn from somewhere records were made and played, from mid-century sleeve design to valve amplifiers and oscilloscope screens. Two of them are light, if you have been wanting that. Put one on in Settings and the whole app follows: backgrounds, text, icons, the level map's nodes, your stats and the dashboard grid. PRACTICE IS EASIER TO FIND YOUR WAY AROUND The ten trainers are now grouped into five families - Distance, Stack, Key, Motion and Outside - instead of showing ten competing colours at once. Every setup screen was rebuilt underneath that: Start is the same button on every trainer, long option names are no longer cut off halfway, and anything you cannot pick right now is greyed out with a line telling you why instead of silently vanishing. Every practice type also has a new description saying what you hear and what you do. EVERYWHERE ELSE Chat lessons take the new look, with message bubbles lit in the speaker's own colour. Quest rows in Stats fill with light to match your accuracy, so you can read how you are doing across trainers at a glance. Settings, notifications, the exercise picker, the league, duels, daily goals and help all use the same lit surface now. RECENTLY, IN CASE YOU MISSED IT 1.8.0 brought Open Mic: answer by singing or playing instead of tapping, with your intonation graded live, note by note, entirely on your device. It works with voice, piano, saxophone and trumpet, accepts any octave, and speaks directional guidance to blind and low-vision users. 1.7.0 added animated level-complete celebrations and a leaderboard that shows your global rank and exactly how much XP you need to overtake the player above you.

• Open Mic (PRO): Stop tapping and answer by singing or playing. Earonman listens through the microphone, shows how your pitch compares with the target note, and evaluates your intonation note by note. • Use your voice or instrument. Open Mic works with singing, piano, saxophone, trumpet, and other pitched instruments, one note at a time. • Sing in your own octave. A bass can answer a question written in a higher register, and Earonman always shows the octave it detected. • Available in Interval levels, Guido, and Practice Mode. Practice Mode includes four answer types: Tap, Sing Back, Produce, and Transpose. • Blind and low-vision users receive spoken directional guidance while holding an incorrect note. • All audio is analysed directly on your device. Nothing is recorded or uploaded.

• Free Practice is now endless and earns XP. No timer, no fixed number of questions - you pick up XP as you go (shown live in the header next to your running score) and tap Finish whenever you want your summary. • Compare your answer with the correct one. Miss an interval, chord or scale and the new Compare button plays your answer, then the right answer back to back - so you can train your ear on the exact difference. • Buy individual instruments with EarCoins. The shop now sells single instruments - harp, flute, clarinet, strings and more - each with its own full-color artwork. Pro still unlocks them all. • Vinyl record answer buttons are back. They resize to your screen and the number of options, curve their labels along the disc, and switch to compact chord symbols (Maj7, m7b5...) when a level has lots of choices. • Easier Harmonic / Arpeggio toggle in the chord trainers - now a compact, color-coded icon pinned to the right edge, out of the way of the answer discs. • Yearly Pro is now cheaper - €59.99 (about 28% less than paying monthly). BUG FIXES & IMPROVEMENTS • Guido and Harmonic Quest no longer crash in landscape on iOS. • The first sounds in a session no longer stutter - audio is warmed up at launch so the very first chord and success sound play cleanly. • Duels: the home-screen card shows your real won-lost-tied record again, and the result screen shows its score numbers instead of empty tiles. • Jazz Voicings: running out of lives now ends on Game Over (not a false Level Complete), and wrong notes turn red on the keyboard while correct ones stay green. • Functioneer: the play button stays visible in Progression mode, and chords no longer voice down in the mud. • Chord answer labels stay readable with clearer symbols (dim, Aug, m7b5), and the green "correct" reveal fires again on single-chord inversion levels. • Onboarding placement now saves reliably, and a duplicate "Listen" button was removed from several exercises.

Duels & Sharing • 1v1 Duels: challenge any other player to a head-to-head ear training match. Both get the same 10 questions in your chosen theme, fastest accurate player wins. Six themes - Intervals, Chords, Scales, Cadences, Chord Progressions, and Mixed. Customize any theme: pick exactly which items to test on, or leave it wide open. • Async play: the challengee has 7 days to accept, then both players have 48 hours to play. Push notifications on every step - challenge received, accepted, declined, completed - and a nudge when your opponent has played their half. Rematch in one tap. • Invite by link: create a share link to challenge anyone - even friends who don't have Earonman yet. One link can be accepted by several people, each starting its own duel. • Share your duel result to a story: turn a finished duel into an image made for Instagram Stories. Your challenge link is copied to the clipboard so you can paste it into the story. • Win-loss-tie record next to every player on the global leaderboard. Tap the sword icon to challenge them directly. • Mark levels for review: tap the star on any unlocked level to flag it for later. Starred levels appear in a "Marked for review" strip above the level map so you can jump straight to them. • Stuck? After three wrong answers in a row, a friendly prompt offers to drill that exact skill in Free Practice instead - infinite lives, no streak, no game over. The Game Over screen also has a "Try in Free Practice" button next to Retry. • Smarter weekly leagues matchmaking: when your tier is quiet, you are matched into a populated group across tiers instead of playing alone. • Cadence and progression playback polish: the tonic chord plays first as a key reference, then a pause, then the sequence - so the harmonic motion is easier to hear in context. • Mobile quest polish: Reveal Answer is now treated as a neutral "revealed" instead of a wrong guess. Polychordist and Hybrid Lab gained a Harmonic / Arpeggio playback toggle. Polychordist no longer color-codes the chord by quality in "quality" mode (the color was leaking the answer). • Settings moved to a gear icon on the Home screen to free up the bottom bar for the new Duels tab. • Bug fixes: cadence and chord-progression duel themes now create challenges as expected.
