Forty Nine Days

Count the Omer

Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

Count the sacred journeys of the Jewish year — Pesach to Shavuot, and now Tisha B'Av to Rosh Hashanah. 49 days, seven weeks, through the seven qualities of the soul. Forty Nine Days is a companion for the counting practices of the Jewish year — above all the Omer, the 49-day journey from Pesach (Passover) to Shavuot (the Feast of Weeks) that has been observed by the Jewish people for thousands of years. Each day of the count is announced by name, traditionally after nightfall. Forty Nine Days reminds you when to count, guides you through the blessing, and opens a window into the kabbalistic tradition that gives the count its depth. Count: The traditional blessing in Hebrew, transliteration, and English. Count at nightfall with an evening reminder, or the following morning if you miss it — without the blessing, as halacha permits. Reflect: Three daily reflections for each of the 49 days, drawn from the kabbalistic framework of the seven sefirot. Season-aware rotation across three years so the reflections stay fresh. New — Sefirat haBinyan: The Jewish year holds a second corridor of counting. Sefirat haBinyan — Counting the Building — is a 49-day contemplative practice from Tisha B'Av to Rosh Hashanah, taught by Rabbi Zalman Schachter-Shalomi z"l, ascending the sefirot from Malchut back to Chesed. Each week is paired with its haftarah of consolation from Isaiah; the count carries its own kavanah, blessing, and daily meditations. A para-liturgical practice, clearly presented as such. Enable it in Settings. Explore: A seven-week accordion calendar with sefirah color coding for each count. Lag B'Omer, Shavuot, Rosh Chodesh Elul, and the threshold of Rosh Hashanah receive special treatment. A visual guide to the Tree of Life and the ten sefirot. Stay Connected: A live Hebrew Calendar with Shabbat candle lighting times, Torah portion of the week, and upcoming Jewish holidays — powered by Hebcal.com. Your Location, Your Nightfall: GPS or ZIP code for precise nightfall calculation. Evening reminders fire at your local nightfall, not a fixed time. The Omer is a practice of preparation — forty-nine days of intentional attention before the gift of Torah is received again at Shavuot. Sefirat haBinyan is a practice of return — forty-nine days of rebuilding between the year's deepest grief and its new beginning. Forty Nine Days is built to support both, whatever your background or level of observance. A Deep Dark Abyss Productions App.

Includes a kavanah and blessing in Hebrew, transliteration, and English; three daily meditations for each of the 49 days, rotating across three years; the seven haftarot of consolation from Isaiah woven through the weeks; a dedicated calendar with Rosh Chodesh Elul markers and the Rosh Hashanah threshold; and full reminder support, including an annual reminder before the count begins.
