Vote among four options on real public events. Share each take with private circles of friends — or just one. See sentiment shift over time. Wikipedia-only, moderated.
Cancelled! is a friend-group opinion-poll app for debating public controversies, brand decisions, cultural moments, and trends — without the pile-on. It's not a verdict. It's not a leaderboard. It's a four-option spectrum that includes "rehabilitated" and "never cancelled" right alongside the brand-vocabulary options, so the conversation can actually move.
THE LOOP
— Pick a Wikipedia-backed subject and the specific event you want to debate. "Is X cancelled" isn't a debate; "the 2017 viral pineapple-on-pizza thing" is.
— Cast your vote among four options: Still cancelled, Rehabilitated, Never cancelled, or Don't know enough. When you vote, choose which of your circles can see it.
— See how each circle voted in My Circles. See the broader public sentiment in Global. See how the take has shifted in the last 30 days right on every debate.
— Change your mind whenever. We track it. Your circles see when a take has evolved.
CIRCLES
Your votes live in circles — private groups of friends.
— "All Circles" blends everyone you're connected to; tap any single circle to see just that group's takes.
— Each vote is shared with the circles you choose. Default is all of them; narrow it to one circle, or keep a take in the Global tally only.
— Make a circle and invite friends from the You tab. Anyone in a circle can invite their own friends; whoever created it manages membership; anyone can rename it.
— Circles are private. If you're not a member or invited, you don't even know it exists.
WHY THE FOUR OPTIONS
We deliberately framed voting as a four-way opinion spectrum instead of a binary judgment. The product surfaces aggregate user sentiment — not a verdict. "Rehabilitated" and "Never cancelled" sit equally alongside the others. The framing matters: this app is built to model how takes evolve, not to issue them.
SAFETY MECHANICS
— Subjects come from Wikipedia. You can only propose debates about people, places, brands, or moments that already have a Wikipedia page. No private individuals.
— Debates are anchored to a specific event with a neutral title — not vague person-level prompts.
— No free-text accusations. The only writable text fields are the event title and a source URL, both moderator-reviewed.
— Pre-publication moderation queue. Every user-submitted debate is reviewed before it appears publicly.
— Report and block on every entry. Reports go to a human moderator.
— Aggregate sentiment is public; individual votes are never publicly attributed.
— Community Guidelines acknowledgment required on first launch.
PRIVATE CIRCLE ATTRIBUTION, PUBLIC AGGREGATION
Inside a private circle, members can see what each other individually voted — that's the social loop, and the same UX every social app has. You decide, per vote, which circles get that visibility. On the public Global feed, you only ever see aggregate counts and the plurality stance. No individual is ever publicly identified as voting any particular way.
YOUR ACTIVITY
— My submissions: see what's pending review, what was approved, and what got rejected — with the moderator's specific reason.
— Activity inbox: friend requests, friend accepts, and recent debates from your circle, all in one chronological list.
— Diagnostics: tap "Send diagnostics" from Profile to report any bug directly.
PRIVACY
Sign in with Apple. Identified by your iCloud user record ID — stable across reinstalls. Your votes are visible to you in Profile. Public surfaces never attribute individual stances. See our Privacy Policy in-app.
