Sober Living Companion
Support for sober living homes
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Sober Living Companion is a secure, supportive app built for sober living homes and the people in them — a program of Empower Next Project, a non-profit. It gives operators the tools to run their homes and gives residents the support to stay accountable in early recovery. Residents always use the app for free.
FOR RESIDENTS (always free)
• Count your sober days and celebrate every milestone
• Find AA, NA, SMART Recovery, and Recovery Dharma meetings — online and local
• Check in at meetings with one tap (GPS-verified for your house)
• Pay your membership fee in full or in partial payments — or send a loved one a secure link to help
• Request overnight and multi-day passes
• See house meetings and chores right on your home screen
• Review and e-sign house agreements and lease/intake forms
• View documents your facilitator has shared
• A private nightly self-reflection and a supportive, moderated community
• Reach your house instantly with an SOS button when you're struggling
FOR OPERATORS & HOUSE MANAGERS
• Run one or many homes under a single account, each with its own join code
• Set each resident's membership fee and track payments at a glance
• Bed occupancy, intake, and discharge management
• Approve or deny overnight and multi-day pass requests
• Curfew GPS check-ins with a live compliance view
• Log UAs/drug tests, chores, and meeting attendance
• Send lease and intake forms residents fill in and e-sign
• Store documents (PDFs, Word docs, photos) on each resident's file
• Add house managers assigned to specific homes
• Instant alerts when a resident needs help
PRIVACY & SECURITY
Your information is encrypted in transit and at rest, with role-based access — residents control their own accounts, and staff see only what they need to support their home.
A NON-PROFIT MISSION
Sober Living Companion is built by Empower Next Project. A portion of what we raise helps fund residents in early recovery who are struggling to make ends meet — so they can focus on staying sober.
Membership fees and any payments are made directly between residents and their sober living home through third-party services; the app simply records and displays payment status.

• Assign a house when you admit an applicant
• House managers get alerts only for their assigned houses (and a heads-up when newly assigned)
• Dashboard shows each resident's meetings this week and amount owed

We squashed a frustrating keyboard bug. When recording a payment or filling out a form, the on-screen keypad could cover the Save button with no way to scroll or dismiss it — leaving you stuck. Now every input screen stays scrollable, you can always reach the Save button, and tapping outside the keypad dismisses it.
Plus general performance and stability improvements. Thanks for using Sober Living Companion!

Payments just got a lot faster to manage:
• Set fees in bulk — select several residents, or tap a house and choose "Select all," and set the same weekly or monthly membership fee for everyone at once.
• Payments by house — filter the Payments tab to a single house, or view everyone grouped by house.
• Search residents by name.
• New Members and Recent payments tabs to keep things organized.
Bed board:
• Tap any resident on the Beds tab to open their full profile.
Plus weekly or monthly billing per resident, due-date and dues/A/C options, and performance and reliability improvements.

Updated bugs to resolve sober clock
1.1.19 Jul 24
You can now set the date when recording a payment, and change the date on any payment you've already recorded.
1.1.18 Jul 23
Add your logo, address, and contact info to your forms — see it on-screen and print a completed form as branded proof of residence.
1.1.17 Jul 22
Much faster: member lists, resident profiles, forms, and documents now load
dramatically faster — some screens load in a fraction of the time they did
before, and no longer flicker to empty on a slow connection.
No app needed for residents: send any form straight to a resident's email.
They fill it out and sign in their browser — no download, no account — and
it saves to their file automatically.
Sobriety date: owners and managers now see each resident's sobriety date and
days sober right on their profile.
Online meetings: residents can log attendance at Zoom and other online
meetings after 10 minutes.
Meeting confirmation: about 45 minutes after checking in at a meeting,
residents get a reminder to confirm they're still there. Confirming from the
same place adds a "location confirmed" badge to their attendance.
Refer a friend: every operator now has a personal referral link. If someone
you refer subscribes, you earn a free month and we'll email you.
Co-owners: add up to two more owners at no cost, each with full access.
Shared inboxes: managers who share an email address can each have their own
login.
Medications: residents can keep their own medication list current, and house
staff see the same list.
Show or hide forms: hide any form from a resident's Forms tab with one tap.
Fixed: assign houses when your account has a single house, and a newly
created house appears right away.
Fixed: the keyboard no longer traps you inside a form field.
Phone numbers are now optional when adding owners, managers, or residents.
1.1.16 Jul 21
Faster all around: your members list and resident profiles now load
much faster and no longer flicker to empty when the connection is slow.
More reliable sign-in: a brief connection hiccup will no longer show an
active account as "not subscribed."
Co-owners: add up to two more owners at no cost, each with full access to
every house, resident, payment, and setting.
Shared inboxes: managers who share an email address can each have their
own login — we'll set one up and show you the sign-in to hand over.
Medications: residents can keep their own medication list current, and
house staff see the same list.
Show or hide forms: hide any form from a resident's Forms tab with one
tap, and show it again when it's ready.
Fixed: you can assign houses to residents when your account has a single
house, and a house you just created shows up right away.
Fixed: the keyboard no longer traps you inside a form field — Save and
Back work on the first tap, and you can swipe down to dismiss.

What's New in 1.1.10
Intake link on your dashboard
Every home now has a shareable application link right at the top of your dashboard — open it, copy it, or share it with prospective residents in one tap.
More ways to get paid
Add a Venmo tag or paste your own payment-page link (from any platform you already use). Residents can pay however works best, and you're notified when they do.
Declined applicants are saved
Turn away an applicant and their full application is kept under a new "Declined" section — restore or admit them anytime.
View applications in-app
Open any applicant's full submission right inside the app, no downloads needed.
Plus a batch of fixes and polish across payments, invites, and the members list.
1.1.10 Jul 15
Pending Admission
Applicants who fill out your home's application form now land in a new "Pending Admission" tab — not straight into your Members list. Review each application, then admit them into care once they check in, or leave them pending. Just tap the banner at the top of Members.
Medications
You can now track the medications each resident is taking, right from their profile. Add or remove them anytime — staff-only, and it stays out of the way.
Plus small fixes and polish.
1.1.8 Jul 14
What's New in 1.1.7
More control for house operators, plus polish across the app:
• Promote a resident to house manager in one tap — trust someone to help run the house? Make them a manager right from their profile, and they instantly get manager access.
• Delete a house — remove a home you no longer use; everyone in it is safely moved to "no house" and keeps all their data and history.
• Profile photos — add or update a resident's photo from their profile (residents can add their own too), so your team recognizes everyone at a glance.
• Tag residents — add quick notes or flags (diagnoses, substances, reminders) to stay organized.
• Attach files to notes and drug tests — snap a photo or attach a PDF (like a UA result). These stay private to your team.
• Different curfew times for different days of the week.
• Save uploaded documents as reusable templates — set up a signable form once, reuse it forever.
• Your sober clock now celebrates your years milestones, not just days.
• Fixed the "All houses" filter so it's easy to read, added Check as a payment method, and squashed a few bugs.
Thank you for being part of the community. Keep the feedback coming!

• Curfew check-ins can now be set to different times on different days of the week.
