Sign-in and sign-up now include a quiet check that the request comes from the real app on a real phone, to keep bots out. Most people won't notice it; if your phone can't take part, you'll see a quick "Verify you are human" box instead.

Shares you write in the app now keep their name in your list of shares, instead of showing as "Untitled share".

Better on iPad The tab bar is grouped and centred rather than stretched across the full width, and reading, editing or moving an item no longer runs edge to edge on a large screen. Plans have moved to the web Plan and billing details are managed by the workspace owner on the web. The app no longer carries a read-only copy of them.

You can now see the master password you are typing. The sign-in screen has a reveal control on the password field. It is the one screen where a mistyped password looks exactly like a wrong one - the server answers both the same way, deliberately - so being able to see what you typed saves a lot of guessing. Also in this release: - Tapping a U2 Vault share link opens the shared item straight away, whether the app was already running or launched by the tap, and a link you have already followed no longer asks you to tap "Open" on it again. - Copying a share link confirms it on screen. - On the share screen, the tick that decides what the recipient can see sits beside the field's name, is easier to hit, and now says what it does. - The reveal icon no longer leans to one side.

Receiving a shared secret is now a complete flow rather than a dead end. • Open a share link without signing in. Read it and copy it — no account needed. • One-time links now ask before they are used up. Sign in first and you can save the secret straight to your vault as you read it, instead of copying it out by hand. • Save a received secret in place: choose the workspace and folder without leaving the link. • Sharing from your vault now searches your items instead of listing all of them. • Items show which folder they live in. • Copying a field confirms what was copied.

Name a device when you trust it. Choosing "Trust this device" at sign-in now lets you name it, pre-filled with your handset model. The name is what Settings > Trusted Devices shows, so you can tell your devices apart — and spot one you don't recognise.

Share links now open straight in the app, and a shared secret can be saved into your vault in a couple of taps. - Tap a U2 Secured share link and it opens in the app instead of a browser, with the item decrypted on your device. - Save a shared item to your vault: the new item form arrives pre-filled, and you choose the folder. - The item screen now names the folder an item belongs to.

Move items between folders. • Move a saved item to another folder from its detail screen. Its version history moves with it, so earlier versions stay readable to whoever can open the item. • The folder picker searches as you type and tells you plainly when a folder cannot be used — read-only, or not unlocked on this device. • Name your share links. The shares list now shows which item each link is for. The name is encrypted on your device; our servers never see it. • Copy buttons on the item screen now confirm with a toast. • Fixes: the Shares tab could get stuck on a finished share, and an item moved on another device could briefly vanish from the list.

Breach monitoring, on your phone Your saved passwords are now checked against known data breaches, and the result shows next to each item. The check runs on this device — your passwords are never sent anywhere to be checked. When something turns up you get an alert in the app as well as the email, because a breach notice is worth seeing where you can act on it. Support, without leaving the app Support conversations now live in the app, on both the Vault and Shares tabs. Replies arrive as an alert, so a question you asked days ago does not go unnoticed. A new lock screen Unlocking now uses a round padlock button that opens as the vault unlocks, matching U2 Secured Authenticator. Also fixed - Long alerts were cut off with no way to read the rest. Tapping one now reveals the full message. - Ending a session now discards the decrypted vault it owned.

New: an About page in Settings. It shows the app version and build, your iOS version, and links to help, the privacy policy and the terms. A Copy diagnostics button puts the version, build, platform and language on your clipboard in one tap — it carries nothing from your vault. Fixed: the Privacy policy and Terms links opened a “page not found”. They now open the real documents.

• New: choose when the vault locks — 1, 5, 15, 30 or 60 minutes, or never — from Settings › Security › Auto-lock. Your choice is saved to your account, so it follows you to a new device. • New: the phone, the web app and the browser extension each keep their own auto-lock timeout, and workspace admins can set a maximum for everyone. • Fixed: the vault could lock while you were still typing. Text you enter now counts as activity.

• New: the app now speaks French. It follows your device language, and you can change it any time from the sign-in screen or from Settings › Language. • New: if you belong to more than one workspace, you can switch between them from the header or from Settings — no more signing out and back in. • Fixed: the app did not pick up your device's language and always opened in English.

• New: lock your vault instantly with the lock button in the header, instead of waiting for it to lock on its own. • The vault now shows a loading indicator while your items are fetched and decrypted, instead of a briefly blank screen. • Unlock problems now explain what went wrong rather than showing a generic message.

Set an expiry date on any vault item and pick a reminder from a preset list. Items that are expiring or expired now carry a badge in the vault list and on the item screen, so you can see what needs attention without opening anything. Expiry alerts now name the item they refer to and open it when tapped. The card form warns you when a card number looks wrong, once you have typed enough digits for the check to mean anything. Trusted devices now show this app and its platform instead of reporting an unrecognised browser. Fixes: the vault list's refresh spinner no longer sticks after saving an item, text fields stay clear of the keyboard on iOS, and expiry dates no longer shift by a day in some time zones.
