Pure pitch, steady tempo, beautiful tone—hone the fundamentals of string playing. With Plus, see your tone as a waveform and let lesson notes show how far you've come.
PureTone is a tuner for string players who want to hone their sound. Pure just-intonation pitch, steady tempo, beautiful note shapes—check the foundation of your playing and refine it, note by note. Go beyond tuning and grow the one thing that matters: a note that truly rings.
■ Truly pure pitch, in just intonation
Just intonation anchored at A, one note at a time. PureTone finds the nearest open string automatically and shows how many cents you're off, clear at a glance. Repeat while you watch, and before long your ears and hands learn the very spot where the sound rings clean. Equal temperament is there too, so you can switch to match the music or the players around you.
■ Ingrain a steady tempo
A precise metronome. Change tempo and meter in a moment, so you can switch to the speed your practice needs right away.
■ See—and refine—your tone (Plus)
The shape of each note you play spreads across the screen as a rise and fall. The character of the attack, a resonance that never wavers, a delicate fade as it ends—see the beauty of the whole note and refine it as you watch.
■ Put your progress in numbers (Plus)
Scales and arpeggios are the foundation of playing. Work through the Fundamentals at a set temperament and tempo, and PureTone shows your pitch, tempo, and tone in objective numbers. Browse freely by difficulty (beginner, intermediate, advanced) and watch your progress become clear.
■ Every practice day becomes a page (Plus)
The day you played, what you played, and how long it took are saved to your lesson notes automatically. Points for each piece are charted over time, so you see not just how today went but how far you have come. Your progress through each method book is there at a glance too.
