Dante Steps
Walk from dark to light
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPhone. Not verified for macOS.
Nel mezzo del cammin di nostra vita — midway along the road of our life.
Dante Steps is a literary pedometer: your real, everyday steps walk the road of Dante's Divine Comedy, from the dark wood to the White Rose. No account, no ads, no map — just your steps, fifteen stations, ten small relics to collect, and Gustave Doré's engravings along the way.
THE DARK ROAD (free)
Walk 20,000 steps from the dark wood through the gate, past the whirlwind and the frozen floor, out under the stars of Purgatory and up the great climb — to the place where the road itself burns: the Wall of Fire.
BEYOND THE FIRE (one-time purchase)
The second half of the journey is unlocked with a single in-app purchase. Past the flame: the green country of the Earthly Paradise, Beatrice, the rising heavens, the rings of angels, and — at 40,000 steps — the White Rose, and the love that moves the sun and the other stars.
