G.A.S. — Gear Acquisition Syndrome — is the backpacking app for people who can always find room for “just one more piece of gear.”
Six backpacks. Four stoves. Nine titanium spoons. Somehow, there is always room for one more. I was officially diagnosed with Gear Acquisition Syndrome five years ago. To help manage my condition, my psychiatrist recommended that I stop buying gear. Naturally, I ignored this appalling advice and built an app instead—a smarter way to organize the obsession and a lighter way to carry it.
