This app is meant to deliver health information based on your results from blood tests, fitness watch syncing, and DNA test results. It does this quite well in my experience. It syncs regularly with my garmin watch to track sleep and activity data. After getting blood results, it displays the info in easy to read graphs and charts. I uploaded my DNA results from 23 and me and it also took that into account. My main issue with the app is that it has problems starting. You have to sign in every time (not bad in itself since you are looking at private health information). When signing in, it takes a while before the app loads, and often “times out” and I have to sign in again. I figured this would be a problem they would fix but it’s been over a year that I have this problem and it still hasn’t been resolved.
Updated: back to a 5 star
Dr. Tech
My issue has been fixed (Thank You). Still hoping to see support for Apple Watch in the very near future but I will still give it a 5 star review for being very useful and personalized.*** Original Review ***I signed up for Inside tracker in early November 2021. I had my blood drawn at a local lab and few days later I had my results (values for 43 biomarkers) and a personalized list of recommendations for improving the biomarkers that needed improvement. For 3 months I faithfully tracked which of the 20 items on my checklist I did each day to improve my overall wellness. This system worked great through Sunday, Feb 6. However, since Monday, February 7, the app will not allow me to check anything off my daily list in spite of the app reminding me every evening to log in and update my day’s activities. I reported this to InsideTracker support on Monday and to their credit, they quickly responded with a couple of things for me to try. I tried them and nothing worked. I sent them screenshots and have emailed them daily since then but I have not received any response since then. This app is 100% useless until they get around to fixing it.

Hi Dr. Tech, Thank you so much for the review and feedback. It looks like you may need to reset your 'Action Plan'.Tap 'Plan' --> 'Edit Plan' --> 'Change Goal' --> Select a New Goal --> Tap 'Change Goal' --> Confirm the new GoalIf you don't want to change your goal please follow the steps above, and change to another goal then change back to the goal you want to use. This is an issue the team is working to resolve. We want to make this experience seamless for more than 90 days. Thanks again and please reach out to us if this does not work for you.
Thanks for the app improvements

I am happy with the app improvements over the last few months. I am a big fan of the company and the science. I’ve bought 2 tests now and have also bought plans for some family members. I recommended the service to my close friends, too, and now we have a bet to see who can lower their inner age the most in 2 years. I have talked with the customer support and I am very happy to learn that the tech team is planning to integrate Oura into the app. It would be great to know if there is a page I can visit to see planned updates/improvements. Overall I think I still prefer the web experience. I think if the app leaned more into the user experience it would get more use from me. I really like seeing the wellness score go up over time, but I find it can take several days to change even .1 on the 0-100 scale, despite me doing all of the recommended activities in My Plan every day. This can be a little discouraging, as it’s difficult to establish that positive feedback loop that other apps have. For example, every time I deposit money into Wealthfront, confetti falls down (even if it’s just a hundred bucks). This is a lot of fun and keeps me coming back, as silly as it sounds. Maybe if there were more daily rewards or bits of encouragement to keep going with the plan, I would feel differently. Another piece of feedback is that many of the stock photos are a little awkward and come off unprofessional. I actually feel a little embarrassed when I show people the InnerAge results because of the smiling man with two faces. I get the symbolism, but it is still awkward IMO.I really do love the service, though, and would (and do) highly recommend it to others. I know that it takes time for front end features to catch up, and honestly that’s not why I use the service. I use it for the backend science. But this is a review for the front end.

Bad App, Good Insights
Screw these review nicknames
The science-back data is helpful and provides nice insights and action items for your daily health. However, they really need someone to relook at the app. There are either missing or poorly thought out features: 1. FaceID/password needs to go. I don’t want to log in every single time I’m opening the app to track my day. It’s annoying and unnecessary. Imagine having to log in every time you want to add something to your calendar. 2. Offline capability. App isn’t functional in places where I might use it w/o internet - e.g., plane, hiking, skiing, etc. 3. Buggy. One bug that bothers me the most is when I check off a goal and then go back to the app after an hour, and I’m logged off and the goal is unchecked. If I can’t trust that the app will record my progress, what’s the point? I emailed them 6 months ago about these issues (among others) and stopped using the app for a while. Came back and nothing has been fixed. We’ll see if they survive. Based on the volume of promos/discounts they spam me with, looks like they are desperately trying to keep users.

Hello, we appreciate your detailed and honest feedback on the InsideTracker app. The log out feature is for HIPAA compliance and to make sure that customer data is kept secure and protected. We understand that this can be frustrating, but hopefully Face ID as you mentioned is making the process a bit faster. To your second note, our team is currently exploring offline capabilities, so we are very glad to hear that you are interested in that! Finally, to your note about the bug where your check-ins are not staying "checked in," we have not heard about this bug before but would be happy to investigate if you would mind sharing more information. If you are interested, you can email support@insidetracker.com the next time this happens with a screenshot and your email and platform and our team can dig into that specific case. Thanks again for your help and it's great to hear that you found your insights helpful.
Bugfix.
